****, This Was Great

I just want to figure out how to get this team to play every game like that. We were tackling violently, we were swatting balls down at the line, attacking the LOS. For some reason we lose those little things as the season progresses. I dont know if we give them too much to think about as the season progresses or what but we lose our fundamentals and then we lose the FF's TFL's the Pass knockdowns etc. Those are the small things that change games, that for whatever reason we stop doing later in the yr. Its games like this that make us "KNOW" this team has the talent to compete with anyone. Lets go CANES!!! Cant wait for this season.

I just knew before I even opened this thread the OP had to be talking about the UiF game. Great tailgate, even better game, and I got so wasted I almost got into a fight w/ a group of Gates while trying to push through them and congratulate a fellow Canes fan. That's the best time I've had at Pro Robbie to date.

No Gator fan considered Jones an upgrade... You made that up. How many yards did Driskel throw the year before?

I made that up? Sure thing cupcake. I don't live in Gator country or attend school there. I'm lying. Driskell accounted for over 2,000 yards in his first year as a starter, 16 total td's to 5 int's & an 11-2 record. How terrible, eh?

I absolutely loved this game. I was also so looking forward to what it would do for recruiting. I wish NSD was right after that game and our good class would have been one of the best of all time. Instead, the rest of the season happened and our recruiting class only maxed out at solid.

Shocked at which porsters here discount the UM win.........shocked!

The biggest problem I had coming out of that game was the unaggressive mentality of our o-line. The crocs beat up Duke after every touch for what seemed like minutes after the whistle. Piling on after the tackle. Twisting ankles and knees. Stomping on hands. Dirtiest team I've seen in a while and our lineman just watched!
Yup. Saw this too. Duke was getting bullied the entire game and our player's balls shrunk up to their stomach instead of standing up for him. A little glimpse of the culture that Golden has created.

I agree 100% with the boycott of the family business. I would never give them another dollar.

man......

this was the best sporting event i've attended in a while--and i've probably been to about 100 in the last couple years

Golden coming to the endzone got me at my heart

Man this was a great win just wish the team could've played like this against Vtech, duke and FSU

Probably the closest the Sun Life has come to rivaling the Orange Bowl for a game. Nothing finer than walking the parking lot after whipping the Gators while all my fellow Canes celebrate.

How many yards did Driskel throw the year before? His top wideout was Reed who was a converted TE from qb... He was the safety net for their mediocre passing game... I'm not complaining about anything, just stating that their two playmakers were gone and a qb who struggle with accuracy(had a career day against us) and inconsisty(was consistent against us)...

Surprise surprise......:noidea:

**** my shorts when Duke flipped Fowler. That kids got some serious fuggin stones on him man.

That whole game was nothing but heart. Impressive display of conditioning. I'll give golden that, our kids are in better shape under this regime, no questioning that.

Honestly though, we got rocked for 3 quarters of the game. I won't call it lucky because all of the turnovers except for Howards pick were forced, but I will say that there was a timeliness to the way things played out. The thing that bothers me about last year was we didn't put 4 good quarters together once. I think you'd be hardpressed to find a game and say that we played a complete game, even against a scrub.

I think UF would have been an 8-9 win team. Nobody loses a QB, RB, and a guy like Easley, can't even remember who else, and doesn't go down the *******. They weren't world beaters but full strength, that D was as good as it gets.

What changed in our defense between this game and the rest of he year?

I remember we were gang tackling, we were strong at the point of attack, we weren't getting pushed back. Seems like we lost our strength or something as the year went on.
