****, This Was Great

I was there, best environment I've been at for Canes, 70% filled with Canes. I was screaming defense baby, I don't wanna hear **** else about our defense!......boy was I fooled

I don't get the very good team comments about the gators. Their D was very good, but that O was bad. At the time no one knew just how bad until the season played out and they went 4-8 and their OC was fired.

If Driskell didn't get hurt I don't think they go 4-8. We played them when they were at full strength coming off a BCS bowl game appearance.

I hope you meant for that stadium. I wasn't there, but I was at the '03 game against UF and the '04 game against FSU -- I thought the OB was going to collapse during those two games.

I was at 04 fsu game, that's when they had to bring in extra bleachers after the hurricane. That was crazy but haven't seen so many Cane fans outnumber the opponent like this game, and everyone was going nuts. Sebastian was spraying smoke in the student section. Golden ran at our end after the victory and it was so loud

Driskell and Easly stay healthy and they would have been a 9-10 win team. While Driskell isnt good by any stretch of the imagination, but he was head and shoulders better than their backups, comparable to us losing Duke and having to rely on Crawford. The main thing in that game was that we went head to head against those guys and whooped them in the trenches. The problem came later on against teams with less talent then us that outright out-schemed us. Our guys were routinely out of position and we were getting gouged. As it continued to go on, you could just see all the confidence in our kids deflate. Also the Duke injury killed us. When we needed to sustain a drive not only because we needed points on the board, but also to give our defense a rest, we would hop on Duke's shoulders and he would will his way to the end zone. When we lost him, our offense no longer had a running game and our passing game was just to inconsistent.

That was a great win but even if Driskell played the entire year they would have been a 6 win team at the most... When we played them they still had bandages for the oline and their starting running back had just come back from a viral infection... Even Driskell was like 2-3weeks removed from a apendecetomy... They weren't a very good team regardless if injuries... Their defense was stout despite the departures but their offense was bad... Their performance against kent state a week prior pretty much confirmed that... That being said, it was a much needed win... The defense actually showed improvement despite the constant red zone trips... McCord was breasting as well as the secondary... We were motivated for that game...

You do realize that the kid that took over had problems completing a forward pass, right? Even then they stayed close in most of their games, until that close 19-14 loss to USCjr where it broke them and then they went on to lose to Georgia Southern. Driskell alone would have been enough to beat LSU, UGA, USCjr and Georgia Southern. That doesnt include losing their best overall player and anchor of their defense in Easly. Make no mistake about it, they would have been at worst, at worst an 8 win team without the injuries, I see 9-10 wins.

Believe it or not, this is the game that confirmed, in my mind, that we were going to massively underachieve the rest of the season. UF was absolutely terrible on offense, and yet they moved it on us pretty well. We only won because they turned it over several times. Our offense played like AIDS, in part because I think Golden is so conservative and had so little trust in Morris that we basically went into the fetal position on offense once we were up. I love the outcome, because I hate the Gaytors. But I also knew, as I left that game, that were in trouble going forward and that people would mistakenly see the outcome as a sign of marked progress, where really there was none.

I had it as one game season for the NC games after that. What the **** happened? The gator was not the wreck they became after that at the time. We actually looked like a team you had to deal with. Right up until the first drive of the 2nd half of FSU game I really thought it was coming together. Then everything fell apart. Still, with all the slime lizards down here, beating them in the last game makes last season my favorite, well since the last time we beat the swap scum. Of course, I watch Swamp People just to see gators get killed.

That was one of the best days of 2013 for a lot of us. Especially since the Gators decided to drop us from their schedule. Braggin' rights remain ours!

Defense was fantastic this game, wish we played with that same intensity throughout the year. I loved to rub this game in all the gators faces lol

A lot of this is true, but we still had to force those turnovers. After watching the game I was like "okay, we gave up yards and we're not going to be a yardage defense, but if we cause this many turnovers and influence the quarterback like this, we'll be okay." Welp, that **** didn't happen by about Wake Forest. Eventually, the scouting report came out and offenses did whatever the **** they wanted on us. We did make plays on that day, and I loved every second of it. When Tracy got that pick I almost died.

I ******* love McCord. Just clone his *** and play him at all 11 spots on D. We'd murder people. Dude is a dog, straight up.

I saw what we did well and I also saw what map is talking about. I even tried to temper the reaction on this board as did SF. Some were claiming "WE Back" after this game... We beat our rival so it will always be a great win, I just don't buy that it was against a very good team.

They would not have won 9-10 games with Driskell... They wouldn't have won 8 games... Maybe if Gillipsie and Reed was there then they would have pulled off that feat but Driskel was only marginally better than Murphy... Their passing game was mediocre regardless... Their two offensive powers were in the NFL... Before Driskel was hurt against Utenn he was struggling that game... They were a bad team from the beginning of the season... UF has lacked offensive playmakers since 2010... Most of their injured offensive players were all underachievers...

As for Easly, his impact was definitely missed... He finally turned the corner only to get hurt... That being said, the defense and special teans can only score so many points... Especially when the offense is giving up pick 6's and fumble returns for tds... That was a horrible UF offense and yard wise had one of their best performances against us... However, we were able to force a number of turners such as the red zone pics and fumbles at the beginning and end of the game...
