****, This Was Great

I don't get the very good team comments about the gators. Their D was very good, but that O was bad. At the time no one knew just how bad until the season played out and they went 4-8 and their OC was fired.

Their OC got fired (scapegoat) to save Muschump's job.. Let's not act like we had the advantage with calling plays. They also had all (but one) of their OL on the two deep, their starting RB, QB & other role players.

The team we played in week two & the team that finished the season were miles apart.

If Driskell played the entire year they would have been a 6 win team at the most...

Sure thing Miss Cleo.

Hey don't feel upset about my opinion... I'm just stating it as others are trying to convince themselves that this was a 9 win team despite them losing an all-conference back and tightend to the NFL while only retaining an underwhelming qb and oline... Hey their struggles was evident in their week 1 victory against Kent State... They won but it was a less than stellar performance by the offense...

Toldeo, not Kent St.. and they rushed for 262 yards while controlling the ball for 40 minutes.. I think they were content with making a quick game of it & get healthy/focus on Miami. As for losing Reed/Gillisie, big deal. They lost double that on defense (way more talent) & came back even better. Most Gator fans considered Jones an upgrade.. so you are complaining about losing a TE who had a whopping 3 td's the year before (6 total while at UF) & less than 1,000 yards combined in his career.

Sweet victory but I can't ever remember sweating so profusely at a game. I remember the old Orange bowl days of being hot and humid, but that was crazy! We were drinking :crownpour:beer, liquor, gatorade and all the above starting at 6:00 A.M. that morning in the parking lot and I don't ever recall having to ****.....:ibisroflmao:hotter than hades!

No Gator fan considered Jones an upgrade... You made that up(I notice your fabrication of facts as of late)... How many yards did Driskel throw the year before? His top wideout was Reed who was a converted TE from qb... He was the safety net for their mediocre passing game... I'm not complaining about anything, just stating that their two playmakers were gone and a qb who struggle with accuracy(had a career day against us) and inconsisty(was consistent against us)... He wasn't going to lead them to 9 wins no matter how much you want to believe that... They attempted to run the same conservative offense because they couldn't trust him... As for their defense... They were awesome but even before the injuries they wasn't better than last season... Their defense literally did the impossible and won games for them last year... That being said, the defense was stout however their offense was still garbage... No running game nor passing game was apparent with them...

All that being said, not taking away from our victory... In a rivalry game any team can win and we proved to beat them... However, they wasn't a 10 win team no matter how you slice it... Their defense was good but outside of that offense and special teams sucked...

I don't know 2000 vs FSU was hot... It was a monumental victory as well...

Did anybody else almost have a heart attack when Gaines nearly botched the onside kick at the end?

What was he doing out there anyway?

Shocked at which porsters here discount the UM win.........shocked!

The biggest problem I had coming out of that game was the unaggressive mentality of our o-line. The crocs beat up Duke after every touch for what seemed like minutes after the whistle. Piling on after the tackle. Twisting ankles and knees. Stomping on hands. Dirtiest team I've seen in a while and our lineman just watched!
