This reminds me of that epic interview with the football coach at (I wanna say) Coastal Carolina where he went on and on about "We dont need any more cats. We need DOGS!!..."

You need to get your tongue out of Morris ***. Again, 17-7 and offense moving the ball and Morris throw a pick and destroys the canes momentum and gives Duke life, which defensive player caused that?

The one where the pass was tipped? Out of all the INTs he has thrown, you bring up one which wasn't his fault, figures......
17-7 and you are talking momentum? Yeah that pick, which wasnt his fault is what turned the game, okay....
It broke our defense into giving up 350 on the ground. Here is the thing, you act like its 24-7 and this game is over. Nah homie, they would have came back, cause we could not stop them, but please carry on with this nonsense.

If we are talking about offense then we should bench James Coley

6.4 ypc and we ran it only 29 times. Crawford was averaging 6.1. We have a huge offensive line that was dominating their DL, its an OL that already won 2 ACC games in the 4th quarter. Just some curious play calling when we needed 1st downs.

Not to mention punting a few times on 4th and short when the above was all true. God I'm so frustrated by every single part of this team.

Havent broken ken it down but my guess would be that the cause for so many more passes is that we were behind...I think we r all getting bored so we r looking at any potential probs with the offense...our offense is far from perfect, but it's been MORE than good enough for us to win these last two games...our defense has actually hurt our offense immensely this season IMO

Your a big stat man tell us how many picks this fool has compared to touchdowns. Morris has crippled this team with bad decisions and picks all year. Why don't you tell us how running out of bounds when you need a yard helps the offense or defense. He is gutless and that is the example he wants to leave for his teammates. At least he has one fool dumbfounded. Congratulations.

One more thing, football is a game of momentum and you don't know how this game turns out if Miami goes up 24-7. Guess that mighty Duke team was unbeatable in your eyes.

take those INTs against UNC away and that is a different game, every single one of those were on morris, the beginning of the game he checked down and we were moving the ball, toward the end he threw so many bad passes that should have been picked off, been saying it all year he doesnt read the defenses well, he even took a while to throw to his check downs in the duke game, i dont blame the duke game on him because that is just stupid but i do have a problem with him running out of bounds on those third down plays, that is something i dont want to see my QB do when we need a conversion to get us back in the game, early in a game sure, in a blowout absolutely, but when you are down in the fourth quarter and need a first down you better give it all you got and muscle your way for it

I posted earlier in the thread about the int was a deflection, so it being Morris's fault was a stretch, but I guess I earned some ignore time with a poster or two along the way....

Think you are painting with a pretty broad brush when pulling from this game and the rest of the season or career. I do agree, after the high ankle sprain, Morris hasn't been able to plant or get a good base to drive through on the throws, which has caused a bunch of his passes to sail high on him, but this game wasn't much about that. He completed over 60%, and threw for 49 times. The pick was a deflection.

I could agree with you that everything he did wasn't perfect, and there were many film opportunities for improvement, but that is with every player and every game.

I personally think your cherry picking your points for an argument out of frustration, like all Canes fans are frustrated. I think you lose a bit of credibility in the argument when you call him "gutless", as he has been playing hurt all year, he hasn't used anything for an excuse, and hasn't thrown anyone under the bus.

If you would say you think they should have pulled him in the FSU game because he was hurting the team playing hurt, or VT, I think you would have a more solid argument, but pointing at this game and hanging it on him is a bit of a stretch. He played fairly well when compared to previous games. He had a few mental lapses, like running out of bounce short of the first down, etc. I get that part.

Either way, I think it would be wise to take it down a notch when insulting players, coaches, etc with personal stuff. Not to classy if you ask me. Stick to stats and other things to make an argument, but just my 2 cents.

You got something twisted, I am in no way a Morris fan whatsoever. In fact my posting history will show just the opposite since the UF game. I just know that this last game wasn't on him and starting Williams is not the jolt the OP thinks it is. There is no jolt or anything of the sorts, the team lost and quit because our defense was doo doo. Morris has been awful this year and the main reason our offense has regressed, but he is not responsible in anyway for that abomination we have witnessed the last 2 weeks. Just because I strongly disagree with your retarded suggestion and train of thought, doesn't mean I like or have liked what I have seen from our starting QB. Bottom line is that Morris had pretty much the best game of his year last week, and the defense had their worse, but you will have us believe that Morris lost the game for us.
SMH.

They will never play Williams unless Morris gets hurt. Not going to happen. They are 100% committed to the Winner of Olsen/Kayaa next year.

No way Mo gets pulled. The only way he comes off the field in the next 2 (3) games is if he is carried/carted off due to injury. That is clear to me. Or if we are so far ahead, Golden takes him out to get Williams and the second team. And with our D being gassed and playing the way they arelaying, that isn't likely. Besides, the guy had a good half against Dook. They (he?) went away from alot of what was working in the second, IMO, because the wheels came off the defense. Dook upped the pressure, he doesn't do well with that. And when he runs, well, he usually is a yard short and runs out of bounds. So it goes. I wanted Golden to work Williams in for a series or two before the FSU game. Not happening. He bleeds with Morris....... And as others have pointed out in the thread, it ain't even about him anymore. Talking about Morris these days is a little like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic......

The funny part was when folks were wanting to burn Olsen's RS. Even though RS in today's game is becoming less and less important, it still was humorous to me.

Bruh! This is a defensive issue. Giving up over 1600 yards the last 3 games will not get u anywhere I dont care if u have jameis Winston back there.

While I completely agree that our D is atrocious, This is an offensive issue as well. One way we SHOULD be able to control the game and keep our D off the field is by controlling the tempo. Our O has been terrible on 3d dn conversions and red zone conversions.

ACC play and 3d down conversions
GT 6 of 13
UNC 8 of 18
FSU 4 of 12
VT 3 of 12
Duke 5 of 15

Our high-powered, explosive offense does rack up yards, but does not put enough points on the board. With a D as horrible as ours, we have to rely on the offense and they simply are not putting points on the board like they should.

So yes, it's a defensive issue, but our offense has plenty of issues as well.

Duke was 3 of 13 in 3rd down conversions in that game.

What's your point? BTW, according to ESPN they were 5 of 13. The biggest difference here is the fact that Duke was able to put 48 on the board while we were only able to put 30. We also had 1 more 1st down and 22 more total yards. Like I said, our team is not able to convert yards into points like we should.

24-7 and who really knows who wins. The opportunity was there and Morris mistake turns the game. When you throw over the middle you better be precise because lots of defenders are around the ball. Morris is credited with the interception,he threw the ball, correct? If Morris ankle was that bad why not take be a leader and be honest and step back for the best of your team? Many of us has played hurt in games because football is a tough game and maybe were a little bit stupid but to run out of bounds one yard short of first down is gutless. This is a team game and he let every teammate down by being gutless. I played with sprained ankles and broken ribs and there is no way i wouldn't have thrown my body at that first down marker.

Really, how so? Let's compare Morris to our D over the 3 losses:

Morris - 62/106 (58%) - 895 yds, 6 TDs, 3 INTs
D - 1609 yds (876 passing, 736 rushing) 131 pts

Explain to me again how Morris has "crippled" this team?

The solution to horrific defense is to bench the quarterback? Can you imagine the player response if he kept D and benched Morris? He'd be look at as a coward and a buffoon. I guess next might be to can Coley or bench dorsett for the week for tweets. That'd miss the big picture just as much.

The way to shake things up is fire D but that would force him into a role he doesn't want.
