This team needs a jolt right now and there's only one way...

If the offense could possess the ball and move the chains the defense would not be on the field 40 minutes of every game. There is plenty of blame to go around. Some on this board refuse to acknowledge how poor Morris really is and how little he brings to the table. A coward can not lead your team and that boy is chicken ****.

I would have preferred to see a lot of Olsen this year for two reasons. First to give him some experience as I think he ultimately will be our QB after two or three games next year. Second I would have liked seeing two years between Olsen and Kaata. Not sure Williams is going to be the answer.

You honestly think Kaaya is coming here after this garbage? He be stayin' In Cally bug.

I've been for playing williams for a while now, but the O wasn't the problem in the last game, the D is. Don't know if Williams or Morris going to help on that side of it.

Yes the O was also the problem, everything is the problem. Duke played softer when they went 2 scores ahead and we still had nothing. Problem is, guys expected to win, coaches expected to win ---- Duke and it's excellent coaching staff - WANTED TO WIN.

While the D gets most of the blame, the O didn't exactly have a world class performance. The offense scored 23 points (7 of the 30 came on a return). When it mattered we **** the bed on offense too.

When we needed help, we did not get it.

600 yards of O, and 30 points. I think the problem was on the D, but it is a team effort.

We had 23 points on offense. Having more yards then them doesn't beat jack SHlT. I would still go with Morris for the rest of the season.

Play Ryan Williams

Doesn't necessarily have to be a full benching of Morris, can alternate series or 2:1, but I think this will shake things up in a much needed way right now...

We scored 2 tds against Duke
we're horrible in he red zone

And Morris is not playing with urgency this may help him or snuff him out...

Also gotta start looking at next year...

It's a no brainier, things will not change in this program until we vast
Y improve at QB

Miami had the ball 18 minutes in the first half and was still losing at halftime. Defense just sucks, period.

Not only TOP. Morris played well in the first half; Our O-Line was dominating; We had a special teams TD ..and we were still losing to F*cking Duke at half. Enough with this bench Morris crap. Does anyone in here really think Williams wins that game for us on Saturday? or beats VT the week before? If you do, then you are living in a fantasy world. Unless we find a defense that can hold teams to under 550 yards per game it really doesnt matter who is under center.

Canes are horrible on 3rd down and redone that's how you score pts, I think offenses year long inefficiency wore on a average defense and made them worse

Playing Ryan Williams is not going to change a **** thing. First, I don't think he's better than Morris, but let's just say he is. The offense scores 40 points instead of 30. Yay, now tell me this. Can this Ryan Williams kid play LB? DT? Safety? Didn't think so. Can he call defensive plays? No? Didn't think so. Also, Stephen Morris is well liked by his teammates, and even though we all think he's a joke, especially while eating a **** snickers, if he's benched, what's left of the team, Golden will probably lose.

Other than that, sounds like a great idea. Hope he starts against UVA.

I'm saying play both not bench Morris, ole ball coach style

That never worked for Spurrier. His best offenses and teams were when he had 1 clear starter. The splitting time between Dean and Wuerffel, Johnson and Palmer and Berlin and Grossman always led to 3-4 losses.

Under the current circumstances, you can't play Ryan Williams and kill Stephen Morris' NFL aspirations. Sure, some of you will view that as "who cares about Morris' draft status," but current and future players will care about what it potentially means to them.

The Duke game was 17-7 canes and they were driving and then Morris tries to force a pass into coverage and Duke intercepts the pass and instead of being up 24-7 Morris brings life back to Duke. That sums up Morris and his inability his entire career. When is the last time that loser even completed a third down conversion? This kid has everything but brains and heart. At every other position Golden will take brains over athleticism, not at QB,he lets a no football 1Q coward stay on the field even with an injury.

Lu, I totally undertsand that line of thinking, but the future is now. Golden has to start getting kids ready for next year. We know what Morris, Highsmith, Kacey Rodgers, Jimmy Gaines and others can do. We(and the NFL scouts) have seen their ceilings. I seriously doubt that Morris will improve his draft stock considerably more with the remaining 2 games. A good combine is his next best hope.

I agree we let the seniors start against UVA in their home finale. But at some point, you give the backups and youngsters they major minutes in both remaining games. Loyalty is one thing, getting ready for next year started the minute Duke was done curbstomping us.
