If being a great player equals to being a great coach then teams should be throwing money at Jerry Rice and Payton Manning to coach. I am trying to look up Bill Belichick's & Bill Walsh's HOF NFL playing career but I am having some trouble. Could some of you guys help me?

I find it hard to believe Reed lobbied for a job and did not get one, and instead Rumph was hired.

I know the man personally it's been discussed. Funny thing you'd be surprised what happens behind tne scenes at this school.

Rumph put in work coaching high school football whereas Reed hasn't coached anywhere. I get the publicity aspect but Rumph earned it.

That's true. I'm sure Reed would be been a huge help on the recruiting side. We got Rumph. I was critical of Rumph as a recruiter but hats off to the guy for what he has done with the secondary he's been given this year.

The reasons are many as listed,but one so far not mentioned is the 1/2 hour on tv talking
about some aspect of a school's athletic program.Usually about either football or basketball.
One item for certain,these recruits do watch tv.In SW Fl.you see a lot of UF and FSU,but
also UNC,Kentucky and Tennessee.
But occasionally,you will see the U.And who do they trot out..... your hosts Joe Zacaki
and Don Bailey.Two old fine warhorses,those two would scare recruits away.

I will be the first one to admit a great player does not equal great coach. In fact most of the great ones hardly played a down. But Ed Reed is a different type of animal. He was always a coach on the field when he was playing. He will transition very well into coaching. I would bet on that.

I know for a fact that e.reed and several others have openly let it be known that they would be interested in coaching at um.

They're several ex players who are offering their services to this university. And truly that's the only way we'll ever stop these kids from leaving.

Sending Ron Dugan In the home of these kids Carol city liberty city and other Miami kids is not working he's not one of us he's a fsu alum HIS HEART AIN'T in this. It's a paycheck for him.

But you bring in Santana moss to help recruit these Miami kids it helps you give ed reed a chance to sit down and talk with these 5 star recruits they'll listen. Send my brother to West Palm belle glade pahokee those kids know him the mom's and dad's went to school and played with us as kids they'll listen.

Why do guys think the kid from pahokee is committed to us??? You thought that was because he loves um?? Lol

It's because we have a family member who coaches on the team and constantly talks to him about Miami. So now the kid is a commit. And he'll stick in the long run.

THESE people don't know who Thomas Brown is but they know Clinton portis.


Randy Shannon can still play the old hey I'm from the neighborhood card and steal TELFORT and others away.
(Couldn't do it while here which is weird) but there needs to be more alumni presence in and around this team.


That's the only way to beat Saban and Fisher consistently for recruits in our back yard. Send hall of fame players into these homes it'll work that's the only way we get back.








Right now we can't win games because our players suck and we can't recruit ballers because we can't win games it's a cycle we'll never get out of without something drastic changing. This class is falling apart.

I'm trying to figure out why they haven't followed him. Is he disliked? He should get some credit for the job he's done with what he has to work with... And Elder looks great too. Maybe that'll help him?
