This is the only way you're gonna fix our recruiting

Money talks. ALL of these kids have "advisors" that they trust. Those advisors sway the narrative towards the schools that offer the money.

Oh no, the boogeyman.

You know who needs boosters, the school's trying to catch up. You think the elite coaches who win all the time do? Please.

Every school, even the lower classifications have people giving stuff away for free. You think players pay for much when they go out to a bar? What about driving around in a car that isn't theirs? The big duffle bag of cash though, that's crap fans make up to make themselves sleep at night.

Recruits go one of three ways typically. Most stay in state and close to home. The next big grouping are those who want to go somewhere where they'll win. The last major group is those who believe in a plan a coach has sold them on. There's other reasons, but those are the big three and somewhere way down on the list is getting paid.

How many athletes recruitments have you been involved with?

The unfortunate reality of college football today is that it's turned into a colossal business. Coaches are trying to protect their $7M paychecks. Boosters will do anything to win.

Scumbag "advisors" get their meat hooks in these kids when they're 8 years old because they know they'll be able to parlay that "advisor" role into hundreds of thousands of dollars they'd never otherwise see in their lives.

It's no coincidence that the big boys with the big money bags are on top now. Money talks. And those programs would kill a motherfcker like Shapiro before he ever got a word out than let him bring their program down. I'm not exaggerating either. They pay, and they do it quietly.

These dudes live and die with their program because there's nothing else for them. We don't have that sort of live and die mentality around the program, and you can see that by the way the majority of our fans willingly accept losing and readily accept it.

That's the only way to beat Saban and Fisher consistently for recruits in our back yard. Send hall of fame players into these homes it'll work that's the only way

FSU is sending an old wrinkly albino from Minnesota and still kicks our *** in recruiting. Recruits don't give a **** about what happened 15 years ago...

That old wrinkly cornball faqquit is showing up with bags of money.

Wait a second...Coach Kool went to Toledo!
Nope can't have that! get rid of him. Only alums.

I know for a fact that e.reed and several others have openly let it be known that they would be interested in coaching at um.

They're several ex players who are offering their services to this university. And truly that's the only way we'll ever stop these kids from leaving.

Sending Ron Dugan In the home of these kids Carol city liberty city and other Miami kids is not working he's not one of us he's a fsu alum HIS HEART AIN'T in this. It's a paycheck for him.

But you bring in Santana moss to help recruit these Miami kids it helps you give ed reed a chance to sit down and talk with these 5 star recruits they'll listen. Send my brother to West Palm belle glade pahokee those kids know him the mom's and dad's went to school and played with us as kids they'll listen.

Why do guys think the kid from pahokee is committed to us??? You thought that was because he loves um?? Lol

It's because we have a family member who coaches on the team and constantly talks to him about Miami. So now the kid is a commit. And he'll stick in the long run.

THESE people don't know who Thomas Brown is but they know Clinton portis.

Randy Shannon can still play the old hey I'm from the neighborhood card and steal TELFORT and others away.
(Couldn't do it while here which is weird) but there needs to be more alumni presence in and around this team.

Right now we can't win games because our players suck and we can't recruit ballers because we can't win games it's a cycle we'll never get out of without something drastic changing. This class is falling apart.

Definition of insanity gentlemen. That's what we're doing.

i'm not sure how you're allowed to post after this (https://www.canesinsight.com/thread/thread-peter-ariz/106062) abortion of a thread.

Can't have 4 game losing streaks, two of them being nationally televised primetime games.. Just makes your program look real bad

I know the man personally it's been discussed. Funny thing you'd be surprised what happens behind tne scenes at this school.

Rumph put in work coaching high school football whereas Reed hasn't coached anywhere. I get the publicity aspect but Rumph earned it.

Why they gotta be on staff to make sure neighborhood fam comes to the U? That's basic. Shouldn't need a check to rep the home school where you won championships. The people that have jobs have been in coaching for a long time... You gotta pay your dues. CP, your brother, Satana and the like should follow Kareem's footsteps and Mike's too for that matter. Put in work.

How many all time greats do you see retire & go into coaching?

If you went down the rosters of our great players from '83 to '03, I'm pretty sure less than 10 are in college coaching.

Most go into business where they can add to their wealth. Lamar Thomas is the only one off the top my head that I can think of & he coaches because he needs money, not because he loves the game.

The reason i don't agree with this post is that Mike Rumph is here, he coached in the community. Kids know he was in the NFL kids know he won a national title. And the Christopher Henderson's, Marco Wilson didn't give us the time of day.

With that said even with kids like that not coming here. Even with the Trevon Grimes kids not coming here. There is still plenty of talent here where we can build a good to great receiving core And same thing with a secondary.

Even this year I think the talent was there. If we had found a solution to this offensive line problem, in the beginning of October instead of the beginning of November. We probably only have one loss right now. But unfortunately kids had to get hurt before we realized we needed to shake things up.

I'm a fan of coaches that could coach more than the ones that can only recruit, And if you can find one that can do both then he's valuable to your staff.

Just keep the former players around to give tips and consult some kids about school and football alike, just have them be there and be a positive role model like they did at Paradise camp with Lewis and Irvin.
