Money talks. ALL of these kids have "advisors" that they trust. Those advisors sway the narrative towards the schools that offer the money.
Oh no, the boogeyman.
You know who needs boosters, the school's trying to catch up. You think the elite coaches who win all the time do? Please.
Every school, even the lower classifications have people giving stuff away for free. You think players pay for much when they go out to a bar? What about driving around in a car that isn't theirs? The big duffle bag of cash though, that's crap fans make up to make themselves sleep at night.
Recruits go one of three ways typically. Most stay in state and close to home. The next big grouping are those who want to go somewhere where they'll win. The last major group is those who believe in a plan a coach has sold them on. There's other reasons, but those are the big three and somewhere way down on the list is getting paid.
