THIS IS NOW THE JUNGLE!

With what we got last year at CB and what we have coming I think this is great for both the Canes and Davis.

I agree, just wish the kid had a little more fight in him. Guess it's better for both parties for him to figure all this out now.

Good post.

We went from this Jungle:

Ok ok ok let me try.

Culture change is like scat ****; tough to watch at first, but once things get rollin' everyone has a smile on their face and is sexually satisfied.

Lu, you stole my thunder. I was about to post the same thing. This kid must've looked at what some of the other DBs were doing and said, "F* it, I'm out."

Also, FWIW, I am almost positive I saw Vernon Davis without pads and if he is who I think he is, he's small.

Agree it speaks well of Howard, Crawford, Hope, and Dortch for sure.

Probably. He is a tiny kid. Thing is I really liked how he played with attitude and spoke with a lot of confidence. He is also a really good athlete, so it was a promising combination even though he was undersized.

Didn't take long though for reality to set in for him I guess.

No more entitlement you've got to earn it everyday

You obviously are only speaking about football! Our society in general is being changed by the liberals to embrace "entitlement"! Thus, it will be difficult, in future years, for society to understand the theory of "hard work" paying off by the strong rising to the top! Using the liberal mentality; all players should be playing and those that are the hardest working and most productive must give way to allow the lower performing and less working players at least get to play a few quarters each game! It is what Obama classifies as "being fair"! You can't just play the hardest working and best performing players!!! This would not be fair!

Thanks for injecting politics to the football board. It's appreciated.

Or not.

I totally get what Lu is saying, and I'm excited about the young talent that we have, but Davis sounds a bit off especially when he references UM recruiting Carter. With that said, it's interesting that McGahee was referenced because McGahee is an interesting example. IIRC, Mcgahee didn't stay because he decided to tough it out, he stayed because he was a momma's boy and momma (and his brother or uncle i can't remember which) told him that he wasn't going to transfer. At the time, he was basically dead set on transferring to Auburn. Now granted, he worked his *** off, but if his mother would have been cool with it, Willis would have bolted.

Interesting, 1775. But, the fact is he HAD to tough it out. Whether because his family told him (which I concede was likely the case) to or because he dug deep, he was forced to go through the process. There's a lot to be said about coming out of the other side of that. What's fascinating is that he wasn't even set to be the starter during his freakish explosion of a season. If he wasn't the best guy available (Gore was subhuman pre-injury), imagine what we could have seen from Gore or a Gore/Mcgahee combination.

Do the '03 Canes win the title with a pre-knee injury Gore and/or McGahee?

That defense was ungodly.

Oh, I totally agree with what you're saying. No matter what the reason, when you come out of the other side, it's a totally different ballgame. I'm anxious to see how things go in the future under Golden. I think we are going to improve, but I want to see if he's going to be able to get over that final hurdle. Shannon couldn't do it, and 2010 was like a kick to the nuts.

2013/2014 should be a lot more telling. Year 3 and 4 in any disaster recovery program in football has usually been the point where you know which way the needle will officially move. That's not to say you can't figure it out sooner, but I am looking at those years to offer a more unforgiving opinion on the state of Miami football.

Agree Wu. Several other smaller examples include junior Alexis, the jimmy Gaines drama too. Teddy Schwartz told me in a meeting that he would let golden run one of his companies (he owns APAC, a billion dollar a year BPO provider). Golden's plan is a thorough and innovative. Barring an NCAA disaster, thus program should be top ten next year and a contender the following year

One of them allows us to settle the **** down at VTech.
