THIS IS NOW THE JUNGLE!

COMPETITION... It makes some thrive and makes others fold.

There should always be pressure on players to keep working hard and putting in their best effort. This is how championship teams are built. The young man was already worried about not playing next year too... That's not the type of mentality you want.. Especially from your CB..

He could be a very good player. But if you're not better than the guys in front of you, you're sitting. Period.

"Gunter says the freshmen DB's, namely Tracy Howard and Antonio Crawford, are pushing everyone else.

"They come out and go hard every day," he says. "So it's always a fear of losing your job or not missing a practice because the guy behind you might take your place."

Gunter indicated that Brandon McGee has come out "on fire" after losing his starting spot for a short period earlier in camp."

Yep... That's the mentality that has been missing for about 8-9 years now.
We're slowly getting this ship back on track..

JC

Brings a tear to my eye.

We might not put up a shocking win total (I think 8) but these guys are going to bust their *** game in and game out. Last year the team never gave up and I expect to see even more fight this year. I think we are on the right track gentlemen.

This is exactly how I took this situation from the get go. I love the potential of our secondary in a few years. All those aboard the Antonio Crawford Bus, because Im driving that thing. I never understood from the get go why he wasnt more highly recruited. I forget his exact numbers but he had elite Track skills (Im thinking a good 100) and I remember his Vertical being insane. He played on both sides of the ball for Plant (an elite program) and made plays all over the place. Something just didnt add up, maybe he didn't camp anywhere.

Slow your roll, shun.

You can navigate that bish.

When a player (Davis) with over a full year of experience advantage is worried about an incoming HS guy, you're definitely pushing the evolution and quality of a position.

Errrrr, Davis is an incoming HS guy himself.

TRUNK TIME for him

Davis was already on campus. My reference was to what his HS coach stated: that he was concerned over the recruitment of Artie Burns and Jamal Carter. Both of those players are commitments (incoming HS guys for next year's team).

Ahhh, I see, my bad.

Golden says that their system is a meritocracy, I think this situation showed that...

BTW, I bet Davis wishes he was a WR at UM from 2005-2008

Vernon Davis would've been ****-scared of Nebraska in '01 like Coker.

We need Reed's... who bleed... on the battlefield.
Not a Vernon... who went squrimin... to an enemy's front-line.

We've been waiting for a very long time for real competition on the field. Knowing that we have guy after guy that can perform. Look at the '01 team. The backups were destined to be future pro bowlers. You have an injury? Man that sucks but now the next guy has to perform... And he does beautifully.

I've been looking for this day to come for a long time. Not quite time to celebrate, but we're getting there. Closer than at any time in the past years.

Love me some competition for playing time as much as the next guy, i just don't wanna see Storm blow up like L. McCoy. I guess it'll make me want to see M. James & the RB's succeed this year even more.

I know,i know... LeSean was technically never here...but he coulda come in with Coop after Milford.
