This is why playing the "Recruiting" game at Miami is dumb.

Hire elite FOOTBALL coaches. Until we do that, it will be the same story.

Yeah, a number 4 or 5 recruiting class is great, but you still cannot whiff on this amount of talent in your own backyard and state and ever expect to compete with the big boys. Especially considering that this staff is not elite.

I roll w you @TheRichtShow; I think ur a solid poster; but let me explain how class rankings work;

1. They go by how many 5 stars u recruit
2. They go by how many top 300, how many top 250, how many top 247 guys u recruit
3. They go by the size of your class

Most of our top guys are on the O side of the ball:
We got the # 2 RB & # 8 RB; # 1 TE & # 8 TE; # 2 FB; 4 Top 300 WRs; # 5 DT QB; # 5 and #12 OG.

On defense:
We have 3 players ranked in the top 300 (Frierson, Blades, Nesta)

Do you see the unbalance?

Furthermore, we have 1 DL, and 2 DTs, commited. B/c of our lack of DL recruiting, Joyner is now being reclassified as a DE, which means we have 0 LB committed.

Sometimes, u gotta look beyond the #’s. I used to point this out to Golden Slurpers defending our “total defense” rankings. Fact is, our class on offense is sick, but defense is decent, but it’s not elite.

Plus, aren’t u sick and tired of reasoning why it’s OK to continue lose out on elite prospects in our back yard? How is it that Herman can lock down Texas’ back yard in only his 2nd year; Helton could lock down USC’s backyard in his 2nd year, but we can’t in Richt’s now 3rd?

Just wait until our Defense is a sieve again next year, and folks will be hammering on about "it's not the coaches fault, they don't have the players!"

We have the number 4 class? If we has the #20 class and still got Campbell and or surtain yall still cry?

I've been griping about how awful the DL numbers and talent was, but all the slurpers said " wait until we get Coburn, Briggs, Chatman and Nesta" lol.

Well here we are again with another class left with huge holes on the Dl.Thats after losing Chad, Norton, McIntosh , Trent and Moten.

But D money says we gained on Clemson, sometimes being realistic is the only option. It's been staring some of these clowns in the face and they were too busy deep throating the staff to notice.

It was an elite offensive class but an absolute fail on the DL. Maybe we can grab some more grad transfers from bad power five schools.

Completely agree with OP. Sure we have nice class but we had:

A former coach at AH who coached both Surtain and Tyson. Tyson was coached by Rumph since he was a little kid and Miami didn't end up in his top 2??? Saban came down here with way less time and face to face with these kids and stole Jobe and Surtain ( a guy who destroyed his father's dolphins and didn't give him a position as a coach).

We have open positions everywhere in our Defensive backfield and Literally what we ended up with was D.J I'vey and Al Blades. Nice players that when coached can be good but not elite like Tyson or Surtain. Frierson I don't count because he's a safety in training.

Then Willie comes here and snags Chatman and Goss when we had some momentum and this dude just got here? I'm looking at Georgia signing 7 5 stars and getting everyone they want, and Bama as well, and we struggle every single NSD. This sucks!
