This is NOT how you win

I think that average class counts too. At least I care about it. We got quantity for sure which is why our ranking is high and some elite quality on offense, but could have done better on defense. No one is saying we missed out on 3 to 5 guys on offense that we needed. People are saying that about our defense. Depth on d is bad on the dline and at lb. This wasn't a lb class but to only take 1 while 2 or 3 could and probably will go pro next year is going to further weaken our depth in the long term.

The numbers don't show the whole story on how average the defense was most of the time. We got shredded in the air by 3 QBs who won't be playing on Sundays but made them look like they were 1st round draft picks. Diaz really needs an aggressive man to man defense. For some reason we have never been a shutdown defense by playing mostly zone. Diaz always starts out with zone and spots the opposing team way too many points before he finally makes adjustments. I hope our defense is overrated by the media again next year and Diaz gets a head coaching job somewhere and we get a better d coordinator.

Our elite recruits on offense will mostly likely only spend 3 years before going pro so that further hurts the program before by the time the defense can be finally be stocked if you go by wishful thinkers proclaiming that 2019 and 2020 years will be better on defense as far as recruiting goes, it will be too late. Our top guys on offense will be leaving in 2020.

The only way we will beat Clemson and get into the playoffs will be by continued top classes on offense and defense. Clemson's average class grade is higher than ours. They can somehow get more players that are better than ours to come back for a senior year. I really want us to be back but I'm a realist. We need much more than just this one class on offense to put us over the top. We will need a top defense to stop their offense and we simply don't have the horses to keep up as of now.

I give up on some of our "Fans". If we don't have the most spoiled "take your ball and go home" fans in the nation I would like to see who does.. miss out on 1 kid and thinks our class failed. Fact check, This isnt 01, We went 10-3 with Rosier at QB. Show me a 10-3 team that is recruiting as well as we did the class...... I'll wait....... Some of you are ridiculous
Texas didn’t go 10-3 and got three 5* and three high 4* DBs and should end with a top 2 class.

Not trying to start an argument; not saying Miami won’t win the ACC (I think Miami will in 2018); just ****ed that Miami missed Thompson, Trout, Sandidge, Friday, Briggs, Chatman, Omoro, Coburn, Surtain, Campbell, Jobe, Samuel...not to mention many that were never publicly identified.

Some of the concerns are not ridiculous, they’re grounded.

I get the feeling that Richt really cares about the offense but really just lets the defensive guys do what they want and manage themselves. It’s not working, he needs to either replace some of the defensive staff or get more hands on there because our recruiting on that side of the ball just isn’t cutting it right now.

His latest move where it looks like we are hiring Patke instead of a proven guy is a lot of what’s wrong with out staff

We didn't get them.

There's no reason to make conditionals.

Class ranking doesn't matter. College coaches DON'T make the rankings.

Production matters.

So if we got 1 of the CBs and a 3* DL, everybody would be singing a different tune.

I'm disappointed we didn't get 2 of those guys, but lol at acting like this makes the class a disaster.

This will end up as the #6 or #7 class in the country

Class rankings don't matter but production does per your statement. So that means that you cannot judge this recruiting class until at least 2-3 years, right?

Clemson Also won a championship and has been In the playoffs the last 3 or 4 years. It's easy to recruit there right now. We went 10-3 with Rosier at QB. Our time is coming, I have no doubt about it

Excuses don't win championships.

Get it done or leave.

Lets be completely real about this. Chatman was a crap shoot, he was "going" everywhere he was shown love (LSU, TENN, UM, FSU) This was the second time he left our campus with intentions of commiting only to commit somewhere else shortly after. Coburn was an attempt to pull a JT4 surprise but he ended up sticking to his word, can't be mad at the kid for that. Briggs was always all FSU sort of a nesta UF situation but not in our favor. Kools resume coming in wasn't making top recruits into draft picks, it was creating gems once they get on campus. I'm sure his attitude isn't one of coddling 5 stars ala DJ Johnson.

It's going to take 5 years, folks. Especially with all these $EC teams, FSU and Clemson nearby. Hard to beat these programs when they can give kids cars, cash, and God knows what else. Mark Emmert lives on our doorstep just waiting for any kind of violation. Meanwhile, he allows his $EC pets to do anything they want.

We missed out by not giving out sacks of cash. Don't be dumb. Sports is all about $ at the end of the day. Why do people have such a hard time understanding that?

Think back to the days when we were winning? What were we also doing? There's a reason why that snitch of a rat is in jail (he who shall not be named).

Once we start doing that again, then we *******.

You forget they used to be trash and in very infertile recruiting grounds. If dabo came to Miami we would already be in the playoffs.

Our top 3 CBs were Jobe, Campbell, and Surtain. Bama stepped in and took Jobe from us like it was nothing in a matter of 2 weeks. Rumph practically raised Campbell and he didn't even legitimately consider us. And Surtain was a pipe dream from day one, despite him and his father's relationship with Rumph. That **** is frustrating.

In all fairness, Jobe was off record but told a few folks he wasn't going to Miami on signing day 2017

In the last 2 years, there have been 6 kids from Dade and Broward who were ranked in the top 10 in the state. We signed zero. If you include 2016 as well, even though this staff only had 2 months, there were another 3. So in in the last 3 years, there have been a total of 9 kids from Dade & Broward ranked in the top 10 in the state and we signed 0.

In the last 2 years, we have signed 1 kid ranked in the top 10 in the state. If you include 2016, we still only signed 1 kid ranked in the top 10 in the state of Florida over a 3 year period.

So, over 3 years we have not signed a single kid from Dade or Broward who was ranked in the top in the state. And we have signed 1 kid ranked in the top 10 of the state over the same period of time.

Just pointing out facts, nothing else. But, if you want to compete with the BAMA's, CLEMSON's and now UGA's of the world, the first step you need to take is lock down ELITE talent in your very own backyard in and in your state. Yeah, a number 4 or 5 recruiting class is great, but you still cannot whiff on this amount of talent in your own backyard and state and ever expect to compete with the big boys. Especially considering that this staff is not elite.

This isn't how you win? Yea signing a top 5 class is awful. We aren't going anywhere right? Can you imagine if we had a 20th ranked class? As dumb a thread as ive read all year. 4th ranked class right now and people have been ing all day. Think about that
