I think having the bye next week is why I'm optimistic. You get to marinate in the loss, watch the film, and know the rest of the season has no room for error. Ward will look at the team in the eyes and tell them this won't happen again

They didn’t, they were extremely active in the portal but didn’t land enough. There’s a reason why they are looking to sign a ton of corners and safety help.

But this is Mario’s 3rd year I expected better talent on defense or at least a better teacher.

but it sucks to see absolutely NO changes to the defense despite obvious schematic flaws

i know it's going to look dumb in hindsight - but maybe this loss was good for us (considering we should still make ACC title game barring pitt somehow beating murderer's row)

Barring Miami going 12-0 and winning by three TDs every week, that narrative was going to be there. Keep in mind, teams like Ohio State, Georgia and others have struggled against crap as well.

Losses to Bama, Oregon and GT. One of these things is not like the other.

UGA gets a discount because they have been so **** good. Unfair but when you’ve won 2 of the last 3 titles you get that deference.

OSU has dominated 6 of their 9. Nebraska was close and the only questionable one. No shame losing by 1 to Oregon and they went into Happy Valley and won close.

Us? Comebacks needed vs mid teams with some luck in calls. We don’t do ourselves any favors, ever.
