I'm confused. Where do Baez and Ice come in on this recruiting thing? I thought they were the impact guys. THEY don't know who and how to talk to these kids and families? That's BS! The reason isn't how recruiting is done, it's how many games the Canes win and lose! Not some street agent, Uncle, barber on the corner.
Ice Harris, our RB coach and local legend can't keep a local RB here that has been committed for over a year? He needs to go. This is getting ridiculous now. I wanted to give this staff the benefit of the doubt too, but not being able to keep these guys is getting to be too much.

I would be really surprised at Scarlett especially being a STA kid. They don't play those games like that especially with less than 1 month to signing day. Scarlett would really being ******** Miami as they would not be able to recover with anyone tangible... Again, I do not recall any STA kids pulling that kind of chit this late in the game...

I have defended this class the entire year against the doomsday crew..but if we close horribly like we have the last 2 years, this will be the worse class since the probation days. Worse than the Chick/Perryman class. Losing Scarlett, St Louis and Chatman and then limping to the finish line would make our depth even worse at many positions.

Playing the "crootin game" doesn't matter in the current environment surrounding the program. These kids have very short attention spans and are shallow and impressionable (yes, there are exceptions). This class is pretty much dead in the water and sinking, which is no big surprise given the way the season ended. Golden needs to show these kids that he can win games and close out a season (ha!). Until he does that, the best players will keep going elsewhere. If I were him, and I'm glad I'm not, I'd be signing up every "too small" and "too slow" kid in SoFla that showed good football instincts and can qualify. At least they'll have a chip on their shoulder and have something to prove to people.

I wonder if "handlers" would have the same influence if Golden could coach and won out after FSU -- or God forbid beat NU and Loserville. Also, wonder what would have happen if Butch was coach after the season. Would class be melting away or going? Never thought I would say this but recruiting doesn't matter, not now. Without Ed Reed coaching the defense for for Larry, a team full of NFL 1st round picks could not overcome a crapping HC. And Larry had a good staff until he fired it. Golden is a worse HC than Larry(who knew that was possible) and has only a couple decent staff members.

The UM administration is to blame - 100%. From letting our program get overrun with Shapiro, to losing the Orange Bowl, to hiring unqualified coaches and then handcuffing them because of brawls and scandal, to being reactive instead of proactive, and not having a ******* well-thought out plan for success for the future.

**** the BOT, we need a Football Council (not a ******* AD) that will create a plan for success for the future.

But he would only bench them or drive them away because they try to make plays instead of watching their keys.

There was a simple way to fix this class and the next one, Fire the staff and start over. We would've had the same typ of numbers in regards to kids leaving but the new staff may have been able to retain a few of them.

LOL. If Scarlett decommits to UF, it will be a future multi-million dollar mistake on his part. Their OL sucks badly and they have 8 commits so far this year. He will be a beaten and bruised man come the day he goes to the NFL draft.

Not sure why people assume Sam Bruce is gone just because of Scarlett. Sam Bruce seems to be all about Miami.

Because theres a whole nother year left to hold on to Bruce...Scarlett was all about Miami just a few months ago too. 2015 will either be a decent year (according to Al Golden's standards) or another trash year ending with Golden getting fired. Meanwhile our main competition FSU just gave Jimbo a huge extension and are reloading every year. Bruce gone
