So Scarlett is getting paid. I get it now. I assume the kid is smart since he attends STA. So when you look how terrible UF is offensively, no QB, no OL, and WR's, it makes sense why Scarlett would go there. Really, who wants to play with Kaaya, a very good OL coached by a legend who has put countless OL in the NFL. Of course, Scarlett doesn't want to play with an OL that will be opening up major holes for him and a QB that will throwing passes to him in the flats and giving him the rock 18 times each game.
Good luck Scarlett!
**An interesting response that I received when talking to high school coaches at the Express tryouts over the weekend when I asked about what Miami could do to improve their recruiting efforts in South Florida is that the staff needs to do a better job identifying who exactly needs to be “recruited”. What do they mean by that? Multiple coaches said that in other places, Miami is able to go up and recruit a kid and their parents. But in South Florida, a recruit’s parents might not have any true pull in the recruitment. It might be a “cousin”, an uncle, a family friend, or whatever. Miami's difficulty in convincing the people who have an impact on kids down here has come back to hurt them.
So basically Miami needs to start paying people
That's the vibe i get, he basically said it without saying it. In order to get these guy we got to deal with the street agent's, SOFLA football recruiting is starting to look like the Dominican republic, Its sad man its a lose lose situation do things the right way lose recruits to the guys that are not, start paying players and get the death penalty. Miami is a tough job for any coach even Butch.

Think about where we would be if Walton DIDN'T reclassify...If we lose Scarlett and go from the one of the sickest RB commit lists in Scarlett, Cronkite, Williams and Walton to just Walton......that would by be the biggest recruiting failure i have seen in my life as a Canes fan. Unbeliebale, unacceptable......just unfreakin' real!
It's almost as if surrounding your coaching and support staff with "recruiters" and high school coaches was a stupid, short-sighted, and desperate attempt to make up for the head coach's inability to recruit and connect with south Florida prospects.Coley, Brown, Ice, Baez, and Beard and we struggle with the basics. Does not scound right.

I hear you. Some more than others. I liked the Coley hire initially, mainly because I stupidly felt it was some kind of big blow to FSU. LOL. Discovering Kaaya is the only worthwhile thing he has done. That, and helping me understand what it is that Pitbull constantly screams in his songs. I just remember when these moves were all applauded because it was Golden making a concerted effort to win South Florida. Coley was the first in a line of moves that were supposed to get us excited about what we were gonna do in recruiting according to recruiting people on the board. Can we stop playing to South Florida with coaching staff and support staff hires and hire actual Xs and Os guys and win on the field? The rest will fall in line.
When you dont know how to recruit in your own backyard. you have a serious problem and that goes for any coach in any region
