The Work 2-3

Look for Miami to pick up a player or two after signing day. They are expected to have a couple of extra scholarships available.

The Annual Al Gorlden Tradition. Can't wait to see what DT castoffs we pickup.

im still waiting for them to bring in some kid who wasnt listed on any scouting service and only picked up football within the last 2 yrs...but brings great promise and potential. its almost too predictable at this point

**Look for Miami to pick up a player or two after signing day. They are expected to have a couple of extra scholarships available. There is a decent chance that Brayden Lenius pushes his signing back after Wednesday. If he does that, he will most likely take a trip to Miami.

JAGS COMIN

Lol Lenius aint no JAG.

1. Because what Pete said was the we were going to get Lenius
2. Yeah, ok.

BHall is right. Did you see that footage of Lenious dunking?

some of these arguments make no sense. all his jags were in 2011. last year he got gilbert who was all big 10, corn and griffin who were all american caliber. We have two highly regarded busts in jelani and grimble. also, dequan ivory we flipped out of no where to us from louisville and was well-regarded. unfortunately, we only seem to get dt's who can qualify but are lazy. Our academics hurt us with Stuckey who is a beast and honestly, travonte might not be coming here because of his grades and just saving face.

More mental gymnastics here.........
Lets start with the first comment, we had plenty of jags in the 2012 class, that was the problem there, we were all hyped up about Al's evals and how he took all these unknown kids at Temple and made NFL players out of them. Now many have already left and kids like Larry Hope have been passed on by on the depth chart by true freshman like Corn. Corn is a stud and Griffin is mega stud, but the Griffin thing was all fools gold. The kid never ever had a chance to qualify, all one had to do is listen to the Texas teams' posters, they all said that while a true 5 star he could barely read and that they would bet the house that he wasnt ever gonna play major college ball anywhere. Gilbert was an honorable mention Big 10, talk about stretching the truth there...... Also Ivory was not well-regarded, he looked like a big kid that could play but he wasnt in anyway shape or form considered a top DT. The overall DT recruiting has been a massive failure all around. Yes even without TV we had a decent pull, but decent isnt good enough when struck out the previous 2 years. Then that last line and sentence, Stuckey is decent and would have helped us but you really gonna call a player that was basically FSU scraps a beast? Not even gonna touch the TV line.....

We are once again in dire straits with another staff, and as a Miami fan it just sucks. Hopefully Al turns it around, but right now there is zero ziltch on the table that he does....

i haven't given up yet but it is starting to appear this is the case. these days there does however seem to be two distinctly different views. the administration and the media believe we are "trending up" now that the "cloud" has lifted. the fans on this board believe the opposite. it will be interesting to see which group has it right,.

And guess what, they will have another bad season. Be lucky if they go 6-6...

Meanwhile, Florida gonna have a top 5 class coming off a 4-8 season. **** our lives.

And they will fire their coach, possibly bring in a great coach who will have a lot of good players with whom to work.

That's the biggest problem with our administration. By the time they finally do the "right" thing....2 years have passed.

I've been saying it for a while now...even if/when Golden loses another 4,5, or 6 games year he won't get fired. He'd have to walk into the Hecht naked to get fired....even then I'm sure somehow D'Onfrio would be safe.

That is what happens when you give someone a ten year extension after going 6-6 in his first year.

I am curious what would lead you to believe Treon would want to come to UM? Miami doesnt seem to run an offense that would suit him. I dont doubt he can compete with the Qbs we have, but I could see him having success in another offense. I dont see him coming to UM just because of Family ties alone. I would like to have him just to snag a Qb from a top S FL school and away from UF or FSU. Thanks

We are changing offensive philosophy under Coley. Look at the types of QB's he has been after. SteMo couldn't do certain things that guys that we recruit currently can

S. Morris was a runner compared to Kayaa. From what I read on a Miami Herald article by Barry Jackson on Kayaa he is not a runner

"What’s UM getting in Brad Kaaya, rated the nation’s No. 8 quarterback prospect?

“The whole package,” said Ed Croson, his coach at Chaminade High in West Hills, Cal. “Big arm. Good size [6-4]. We ran a no-huddle the whole game and he’s quick making pre-snap reads, figuring out where to throw. He’s not a runner but he moves around and gets rid of it. Best quarterback in California.”

What he's not, Croson said, is "a rah-rah leader," choosing instead to lead with his actions. Croson said in some ways, Kaaya reminds him of former NFL quarterback Erik Kramer, who Croson also coached.

I dont see Miami changing their philosophy to a spread option which seems to be ideal for Treon. Also if Coley hand picked Kayaa, who is not a runner and more of a pro-style doesnt seem to be a huge change in offense to want Treon.

yep - look at Auburn and Maz.

Meanwhile, we have a guy who is making it abundantly clear that he isn't a very good coach, isn't a very good recruiter, isn't a very good CEO, is stubborn, and, on top of it all, views UM as a Plan B job. He has some great players coming in this class (Chad and McDermott come to mind), but I don't think they can overcome his scheme on defense. I see this getting worse before it gets better.

i agree with you a lot including we need 5 dt's this year but least not rewrite history. Grimble and Ivery were both late flips that excited people. You can't teach work ethic and by all accounts Briscoe, Grimble, and Ivery were lazy. Stuckey was not a scarp, he had grade issues otherwise he would have been playing at FSU. He is a 4 star juco and his a high motor.

People were excited about ivory because 1 we needed bodies there and two most still felt very strong about Al's evals., but he wasn't a highly regarded prospect. This is straight from FSU fan's but Stuckey was a take early on for FSU but he underwhelmed his senior year and FSU didn't really care. When he didn't qualify they just let him loose and never rerecruited him.

My feelings in sum.

Glad I'm not wasting a vacation day on Wed....not worth it.

Hopefully no one shows up to the staffs NSD party so they can get embarrassed.

If Al Golden backslides record-wise, and doesn't get fired, I will join the panthers in outrage bc Randy got fired for what is an exactly the same tenure. I expect us to be looking for a new coach after this season. Guy can't handle Miami at all.
