How do you think they got all the elite players to win those first few?

How did Rix do when it came to keeping Saban out of Georgia when he was at UGA? Did Saban go in there and cherry pick guys that he wanted, or did Rix have it on lockdown?

I know Rix had his major local Georgia blunders like thinking Cam should be a TE and Deshawn Watson was a DB. But I'm not talking about that as much as I am his ability to keep Saban from poaching blue chip Georgia players from him. That will tell us a lot about how he'll do down here trying to protect the fort.

From what I can remember off the top of my head, Nkemdiche was the only "Cant miss, 5*" that he missed on. And we all know he got paid by Ole Miss.

But AJ Green, Isiah Crowell, Alec Olgetree, Chubb, Josh Harvey Clemons, etc.

Green is from South Carolina. Over the years, he's won quite a few but lost quite a few as well. I know Auburn has plucked Georgia kids over the years (Gabe Wright, Montravious Adams, Carl Lawson, etc) and I'm fairly certain Tennessee and Bama has gotten some coveted guys. Off the top of my head I'd say that Richt did decent with regards to keeping kids home.

I wish we'd continue the trend and not look at any of them. Only way I'd be happy about Cronkite is at WR or DB. We have mediocre RBs already and there's 10 of them in south Florida every year

That on top of the fact that they get so much talent. You can't tell me at least half of them don't see that they won't get any playing time until their junior year (if at all). If that's not bags then I don't know what is.

Do they pay guys once they are on campus? More than likely. But they dont have to pay to get them there.

Anthony mcfarland said nick saban is a god in college football. He said that and is likely not even going there. Thats what these recruits think about bama. They see bama as being on a different level than the rest of cfb.

So these kids are going to turn down big bucks from other top programs like O$U, F$U, L$U etc... (not just mediocre Miami) just so they can ride the pine for a few years waiting for the other 5stars at their position to filter out.

Bama hasn't stopped buying recruits.

Look at this board, how people react to others and how they react to a game. Now look at Twitter. How are the kids acting? Now you are telling me that with all these kids in their feelings, they aren't going to snitch when they leave? Come on man. The vast majority of players are not getting paid. If we have to be the 2001 version of the Canes to win we won't. Nana has a stranglehold on cfb now. These things run in cycles. There is enough talent to win and win big at Miami. There are plenty of schools that do more with less. Until we get the elite talent we will need to develop and do more with less.
