Why is it that the national media, recruits, and NFL alumni all like Cristobal? Genuine question. I don't get it.

A) he's actually being considered at all
B) We have the most incompetent set of decision makers in the country

An interview means nothing. This is more encouraging than anything because it means they met with Butch. It won't be Mario. They are meeting with coaches that are available to interview. They probably still have plenty more who won't be available for months. I'm excited that Butch got a meeting because he will outshine many of the candidates. Much better salesmanship.

As a Bears fan we do not want Mel Tucker anywhere near this program. If we think Coach D is bad, Tucker is on another level of bad coaching . Those Bears Defenses were historically bad under his 2 years.
 
It is not confirmed that it was an interview.

If UM is willing to pony up $4 million for a top notch coach then that tells you Mario is a Plan B. Or Plan C.

Because Mario and Butch each had a lunch with someone outside the Athletic Department doesn't mean much.

And local media peoe say that Cristonal understands the importance in having a a great staff....

Fold the program if we hire Cuban Golden.

You know, I have heard several ex cane player interviews and they almost NEVER mention Mario's name. The alums seem to prefer Chud, Pagano and 1 or 2 others.
 
Ctistobals coming to be groomed under Butch. Thats why they met with both of them around the same time. We get butch for a couple years, they get mario long term, everybodies happy.

HC- Butch
HC to be- mario
DC- Schiano
OC- Dorsey
DB- Reed
RB- Portis

Coley needs to go period. Mario has shown nothing to deserve a head coaching spot, if he was so good of a HC candidate then why doesn't any other major program want him. We should just focus on Butch, Strong, and Herman and make it easier on ourselves.

The joy of last Sunday has slowly eroded, Cristobal and Coley, holy sh#t. You can't make this **** up, if I didn't know any better I would think the decision makers are intentionally destroying the program.

**Yesterday, a tweet emerged saying Butch Davis was at the Biltmore having drinks with Jackson Health CEO Carlos Migoya. It is unsure what role Migoya has in the coaching search, but a source tells me that Migoya had lunch with Mario Cristobal today at Christy’s in the Gables. **Sources close to Cristobal indicate that he already has an idea of who he would include on his staff. James Coley would be retained most likely. Bama DB Coach Mel Tucker would be a frontrunner to become defensive coordinator. Marshall OL coach Alex Mirabal would replace Kehoe.

**Do not count out Cristobal on being part of Rob Chudzinski’s staff if Chud is the guy. Mario’s brother, Luis, was Chud’s roommate at Miami and the families are close.

**I can also confirm the reports that Charlie Strong does have interest in this job. Sources close to his agent Jimmy Sexton say that Strong may not be all that happy in Texas. Interestingly enough, Dennis Dodd wrote last week that power agent Jimmy Sexton would love to get one of his clients in this race. Scroll to the section on Mark Stoops –

Do you even read the site? Mario under consideration is causing a fan riot. Stop wasting ink on the Mario/Chud/ et al bull **** already, and get an interview. Or, at the very least start getting some good information on Butch. I see what you did with the Butch/Mario Migoya/Staff info. Don't become a Gary Ferman.
