Rumph is the one getting the 6 figure salary to recruit these type of players. T.C. called him a father figure for Christ sakes. You coached at the high school he attends. You work at a school that's less than 30 minutes away from him. Then you go and lose him to a school that goes half a century without winning a title. We will NEVER get back to our former glory if we keep losing out on the 5-star talent in our backyard.

By my relatively quick look, it appears that if Miami loses Campbell, according to the 247 composite they will only sign 1 of the top 5 kids that played in south Florida for the fifth consecutive year. Have not landed more than one since Duke and Tracy. STA is included, despite a substantive number of their kids being transfers.
 
I would take Campbell and Bethel if they both wanted in. But if we just get Nigel Bethel it's still an A+ DB class, even though it will suck not getting TC.

Overall closing with the rest of our remaining top targets to go with the ones already signed... would make it the best recruiting class Miami has ever had, so Id be more excited about that then bxtchn over losing Campbell.

We have to optimize our coaching staff. We don't have any original ideas on offense despite having a HC/OC & RB/OC, along with a QB coach like Jon Richt... we have 2 guys taking up one position spot in the secondary and one of them can't land a kid who called him his f'ing mentor. Kul apparently likes recruiting about as much as cornerbacks love Mike Rumph. We might have had some of the worst special teams play in the country.

Catching up to the Alabamas and Clemsons of the world isn't going to be easy, Richt isn't doing himself any favors with this many holes in the staff. Find an Xs and Os guy on offense and find someone who can recruit worth a **** on defense.

It's not a good sign if at the end of this cycle Rumph is at least 0-4 in trying to his former CB's to play for him.

That's awful.

sony and mckenzie go to georgia with Richt there and Rumph HC, and now this, obviously its something bigger than the people

I'll just wait to see what happens with TC. Besides that, lot of good news
 
Too bad we waited until the end to offer an elite kid who actually wanted to be a Cane because he was too short. Would have been nice to have Samuels in class given Jobe cucked us and TC / PS2 think Rumph is poison.
 
DB class will be a disappointment compared to what it should have been.

Hope that Thompson is one of the DTs that they've silently been making moves with. He's going to be a good one.

Frankly, I'd rather have a big-time DT over a big-time DB. But it'd be better to have both.

I said it in the Juedy thread. We won’t get high profile guys from Broward until we win...and not one year I mean constantly winning. It doesn’t matter who you have I guess. This entire county is filled with front runners and until we become a consistent winner don’t expect the Tyson Campbell’s and Patrick Surtain’s to come here. Neg away, I’m sure that hurts some feelings...

im ALL for this. Dont worry we will have the Richt brigade attack us. But dude screwed himself with some of his grabs on the staff. Its like he got a big pull on a guy (kul) and would follow it up with let me pay for a CB coach out of hs...(essentially should be given to a ga or something). We have a rb coach with an oc title that doesnt even wear a headset...and the son at qb coach. If YOU want to coach QBS again....You do it. Dont waste a staff spot with nepotism. Essentially when the rest of your offensive staff is green.

It's worse than that. This was our best year in a decade. We had a national ******* craze created with the turnover chaing. THE **** TURNOVER CHAIN!! And he can't ride this momentum to close on anyone? Not even his former players? **** is worse than I even thought. We are going to go 0-4 on the top guys from South Florida and it looks like the 2 he was closest to won't even consider us for an OV.

Now THIS was dumb. More of the staff overthinking ****. Samuels shouldve had an offer his Junior year regardless of TC or anybody elses status.
 
Campbell is the type of get that sends a message and sends this class over the top. I dont care how just go get him.
