First time surtain has ever talked about visiting miami.
Fort Lauderdale American Heritage five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. took an official visit this past weekend to LSU.
On Monday he was at Miami for an unofficial visit.
"I just wanted to see the basketball game and talk with the coaching staff," Surtain Jr. when asked why he was in Coral Gables. [UM cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph] invited me out. It was a good game. I wish they could have held on."
Surtain Jr. has long been considered an LSU lean. He said that he enjoyed his time in Baton Rouge with Ed Orgeron and Corey Raymond.
"They were just telling me how much of an asset I would be for them and all the things they like about me. They said I could play right away."
Surtain will get to Alabama this upcoming weekend with teammate and good friend Tyson Campbell for his second official visit of the recruiting process.
As for the rest of his visits?
The U.S. Army All-American says those are up in the air right now.
"I still got to schedule the last two."
Ohio State is working to get Surtain Jr. on campus before Feb. 7's National Signing Day. So is Clemson, Florida State and others. It appears however that Mark Richt and the Hurricanes might be in the best shape to host him for a visit once he returns from Tuscaloosa.
"Yeah," Surtain Jr. said when asked if Miami is in good shape to land one of the final two visits. "I talked to Coach Rumph about it and there's definitely a chance. It's my hometown and I still want to see more things at Miami."

Ivins posted an article stating PS2 wants to see more of Miami after last night.....
And here we go!
I'd be shocked if he didn't OV. Even if he's not coming, no way he doesn't OV.

They're feeding Pete gloom and doom so they look like superheroes when they pull all 4. That "we feel confident" rap hasn't worked well for them publicly.
I had the same thought. Mostly because I just can't fathom Rumph striking out to that degree.
Rick is going to take this from Rumph and get it done. No way he lets Spermy Fart punk him. Rick won't lay down for UGA. He might be sending out Tweets talking up UGA, but, in his gut, he's got rage for them.
