The Work 1-15

We have two stud CB's - Ivey & Blades, potentially a 3rd if Gilbert if he stays at CB (if he does, the best physical traits out of anyone available), and a stud safety in Hall. Of course we want Campbell, but let's not pretend Campbell is some make or break recruit.

Let's not pretend that a guy that didn't start for his team, a 165 lber and a tweener safety is on the same level as Campbell/Surtain/Jobe either...
Jobe is not on Surtain/Campbell’s level...

No doubt. And there is a gap between those 3 and ours.
Not much of a gap, for me it’s Campbell and then the rest.

Losing Campbell, Surtain, and Jobe to SEC powers while we possibly settle for a recruit we're literally only "battling" UCF for sounds extremely familiar.

The DB coaching setup needs to be held accountable if we don't want this happening again with the 2019 class.

Campbell to UGa, Surtain to LSU, and Jobe to juco. Who did we beat out for Frierson, Hall, Ivey, and Blades?

Bama was going after hall, UGA was going after frierson, most of the country was recruiting blades, dont know about ivey

The one positive we can get from the Campbell loss. Richt may realize that the Georgia Bulldogs are going To become a rival. So he should stop tweeting words of encouragement to them.

Seriously. Its getting annoying as ****. **** them. He should be saying that.

Blame Rumph all you want but make sure you blame a lot of yourselves and most of your neighbors for making this the softest part of the country for a kid to leave to go play for some hilljack supported SEC team.

There's ZERO fear in ANY of these kids or their families about leaving here (and often outright disrespecting Miami as they do so). And I'm not talking stupid **** like fear of violence (even though Michael Irving said that'd have been the case for him) but just plain ol' fear of mass disappointment and social blowback.

Soooo go ahead and call for Rumph's head but make sure y'all hold every clown wishing every local kid well while sayin' "God bless! Go get yours!" and "You can rep da 305/954 anywhere!" to the same standard as they're just as much of the problem.

Can you imagine a kid at Tuscaloosa High throwing a Bama hat down at his signing day ceremony like the linebacker from Deerfield Beach did a few months ago? Or straight up goofing on them in a video like Jobe did?

Exactly. No. Him and his family actually would need police protection. We send them well wishes.

Its going to keep happening. Florida boys don't seem to give a shît about leaving.

U tell me if saban or meyer were at UM these guys would leave? No way they would leave.....we have to play the game

Which is why we shouldn't depend exclusively on these South Florida boys. Recruit other states.

With so much DB talent in So Fla, our staff would get shet for not focusing on the local guys.
Got to keep on working.
The culture is changing.
We all want everything sooner, I know.
It will happen.

We say that every year.

I think a coach that builds his program depending on the whims of flaky South Florida divas.... that coach is a fool.

Like someone else said... you pretty much know which local kids want to be Canes early on. Get those kids signed in the early period, and be on some national kids to make up for the local kids who are inevitably going to leave.

There will be Josh Jobe's and Tyson Campbells in every class, no matter what. The coaches need to plan around it. And NO, Nigel Bethel does not count for "planning around" losing Campbell/Jobe/Samuel/Wilson/etc.

Agree on everything except for "saying that every year."
We are in a better place now than we were 2 years ago.
We'll be in a better place next year (and moving forward), than we are now .
We'll be in a better position to start pulling these guys on a regular basis, IMO.

Edwards, Henderson, Wilson, Surtain, Jobe, Samuels, Campbell....

South Florida CBs have been absolutely pillaged under Richt/Rumph.

That HAS to change for us to get where we need to be.

We couldn't cover our own shoes for much of this season, and we still can't get elite local CBs to come here to snatch that playing time. Rick and Rumph should be on suicide watch.

Is Rick still holding onto his in-home visit with Asante Samuel? Think he can redeem that for an extra in-home with Campbell?

When Richt said he liked to save his in-home visits for when the kids are committed as almost like a victory lap. I couldn't help but question if he still has the fire inside him to battle with the big boys. Saban and Willie used their visits (Jobe/Samuel) and locked their guys up.

I'm not going to say Campbell wouldn't be number 1 on the board as a true CB. He is. Just saying Blades/Ivey are truly great additions who have big upsides. And GF is truly elite at either safety or CB. That kid is my favorite DB recruit and will be the best of all, whether it's at safety or CB. Truly a special talent.

posted this somewhere else, but it should go here too since this is essentially a fire rumph thread now. IMO he has yet to actually miss on anybody since Campbell and Surtain haven't even decided yet.

Chris Henderson - probably was Rumphs fault, but lets be real, that kid was a ******* little b**** . What he did, he deserved to get his *** chewed out for. He couldn't handle getting yelled at and coached up so he decided to run. That doesn't sound like someone I want.

Brian Edwards - imo wasn't good, or deserving of being in this class, especially after seeing who was in the 2018 class. But it appears this was a miss. However I'd argue it was a miss for Banda not Rumph. Everything we heard was that Banda was the main recruiter and those two were tight.

Asante Samuel - wasn't Rumphs fault. Actually, most of the intel has said that Rumph was one of the guys that was fighting for Asante to get an offer from the very beginning. We ended up slow playing him to the point we didn't even recruit him until like a week before ESD. No **** Rumph wasn't able to flip him that late. Again, don't see why people are blaming Rumph for that one if he wanted the kid, but was basically overruled.

Josh Jobe, again if anything this one is on Banda. But actually this kid is just 100% af and was definitely payed to go to Bama. Why is Rumph being blamed for this one?

Campbell, finally a player that Rumph can actually be blamed for that isn't a ******* total ***** *** b**** . Campbell is a top 3 CB in the country, possibly the best. We are competing with UGA and Bama, who were both just playing in the national Championship. Obviously Rumph and he have a good relationship, but its entirely possible the ONLY reason we are even in it is because of Rumph. I mean look at all the schools he's been looking at, they've all been the top schools in the country and out of state: UGA, Bama, Clemson, tOSU and Miami have been the 5 main schools he's looked at from the beginning. Campbell was never an easy get and anyone that thinks he was is an idiot - regardless what his relationship with our CB coach is. Still this would be a loss for Rumph, but lets not act like because we lost Campbell, its 100% on Rumph. LASTLY, this one isn't even over with. Yall a bunch of defeated little pussies.

Divaad Wilson, again how is this on Rumph when we didn't even recruit him because he had "Beef" with other commits, mainly Frierson. I mean if anything thats Friersons fault we didn't go after him. This isn't on Rumph.

Patrick Surtain. I guess this one is on Rumph, but I wouldn't say he "lost" this recruiting battle since we were never in it to begin with. If we have <5% chance at getting someone at best, thats not someone that is a realistic target. Again, probably the only reason we even have that 5% chance is due to Rumph being the coach.

So yall literally want to fire Rumph SOLELY because we MIGHT miss out on Tyson Campbell. If that is your opinion, thats fine, but say that. Dont make up a bunch of other bs reasons to justify it.

Wow. That's a long list of excuses.

"Don't worry about losing Dalvin Cook guys, we got a stud RB in Joe Yearby!"

I'm not even mad that they missed out on Campbell. I'm mad that they didn't have a better backup plan than Nigel ****ing Bethel.

When Bama misses out on a 5 star recruit, they go and get another 5 star recruit to replace him. What do we do?

We have Frierson, Ivey, and Blades already as cbs... what are u talking about?

wow at this board. I think i predicted this as well. Folks making up every excuse for Rumph.

Yall fight that L so hard. And i dont get why.

Rumph could literally lose recruiting Mike Rumph Jr to FAU and some of yall would say "well his mama breast feeded him, thats on her"

In your post...you have blamed Bags, Frierson(dont know how?), Richt, Banda, Henderson's feelings, all to say what we alreay know....HE SUCKS AS A RECRUITER.

Mike we know thats you...You even suck at Posting.

What you gonna do knowing your going up against Randy Shannon for Bethel and he got the last visit?. Lmao

Its whatever with me. Its his choice and he dont want to come here i aint gone worry about it. Keep building the program and our time gone come.

No doubt UGA has been telling Tyson Campbell that if they had him on the team they would have won a national championship. Thats tough to argue with, because its not exactly wrong. Their one cb was getting his *** worked all game, and gave up that final TD because he didn't reroute the WR at all. 2 of the 3 schools we are competing with for him were just in the National Championship that either team could have won. And the school that is the biggest threat to us is UGA who was an inch away. I mean all uga has to do is show Campbell tape of their dbs getting worked, and how he could be THE difference maker. Thats tough to battle with.

Having said all that **** all of you, and Pete too, he's going to be a Cane.
one of the most revered video posters on this site proclaimed months ago that Miami had nothing to fear from UGA, because Miami doesn’t lose recruits to UGA.

Uga was doing this last year and this uear it has nothing to do with them playing for a title. They let go of MR so they can play the bag game they want to win badly and there higher ups said fuq this we should be better. Thats the truth
I agree with most of that; I know many UGA fans/alumni...and a few boosters. I’m just commenting on posters who actually didn’t see that UGA would be a threat. That Kirby, the lead recruiter at AL, would get the job at UGA and forget/ignore that SFL has talent.

You’re right about that.

We get the “go show them how it’s done young bull”

“Go rep the 305”

and of course, little jock sniffing twerps tweeting out “good luck, bro”

Also, anybody see that blonde cane chick white knighting for Jobe on twitter

Yall dudes are hilarious. The defensive side of the ball has missed several guys period. So to act like rumph is the only one is crazy.

3 elite DB prospects in SF. Game changing types.

Jobe, Surtain & Campbell

We goin 0 for 3?

Told yall. Gotta play the bag game.

Alabama has TWELVE 4/5 star defensive backs currently on their roster.

Miami has THREE.

We've got some room to make up.
