The Work 1-15

What I don't get is you see the dbs playing very well, you know Rumph better then these other coaches, you can stay home and yet you say no? Now it's always blame the coaches for everybody but many times it's not that simple and this just feels like a huge bag is the biggest factor but **** it

Losing Campbell, Surtain, and Jobe to SEC powers while we possibly settle for a recruit we're literally only "battling" UCF for sounds extremely familiar.

The DB coaching setup needs to be held accountable if we don't want this happening again with the 2019 class.

Campbell to UGa, Surtain to LSU, and Jobe to juco. Who did we beat out for Frierson, Hall, Ivey, and Blades?

Paul Williams > Michael Rumph ?

And ya'll thought Nesta not signing was a master plan to land everyone at once. **** we have some serious rookies/retards on this board. Recruiting isn't as complicated and covert as you try to make it out to be.

We have two stud CB's - Ivey & Blades, potentially a 3rd if Gilbert if he stays at CB (if he does, the best physical traits out of anyone available), and a stud safety in Hall. Of course we want Campbell, but let's not pretend Campbell is some make or break recruit.

You’ve lost your mind now. Rumph’s recruiting is suspect, but my grandma was better than this gnome

Let's not pretend that a guy that didn't start for his team, a 165 lber and a tweener safety is on the same level as Campbell/Surtain/Jobe either...

The one positive we can get from the Campbell loss. Richt may realize that the Georgia Bulldogs are going To become a rival. So he should stop tweeting words of encouragement to them.

Jobe is not on Surtain/Campbell’s level...

Edwards, Henderson, Wilson, Surtain, Jobe, Samuels, Campbell....

South Florida CBs have been absolutely pillaged under Richt/Rumph.

That HAS to change for us to get where we need to be.

How does it change....give me some answers solutions....all were gonna do is beat each others brains in here and point the finger and blame. From an outsider perspective (us as fans) what do you say or so different

Pretty simple. You hire an elite recruiter. How'd Hartley convince Mallory to come here and not follow his entire family's legacy to Michigan? Great recruiters get rich because they bring an invaluable skill to the table.

Dameyune Craig was making $700K to coach RBs a couple years ago. He's coached about 3 different positions in the college game. People aren't getting in bidding wars for his services because he's some otherworldly RB coach. There's no such thing as that anyway. You recruit elite RBs and hand them the fcking football.

posted this somewhere else, but it should go here too since this is essentially a fire rumph thread now. IMO he has yet to actually miss on anybody since Campbell and Surtain haven't even decided yet.

Chris Henderson - probably was Rumphs fault, but lets be real, that kid was a ******* little b**** . What he did, he deserved to get his *** chewed out for. He couldn't handle getting yelled at and coached up so he decided to run. That doesn't sound like someone I want.

Brian Edwards - imo wasn't good, or deserving of being in this class, especially after seeing who was in the 2018 class. But it appears this was a miss. However I'd argue it was a miss for Banda not Rumph. Everything we heard was that Banda was the main recruiter and those two were tight.

Asante Samuel - wasn't Rumphs fault. Actually, most of the intel has said that Rumph was one of the guys that was fighting for Asante to get an offer from the very beginning. We ended up slow playing him to the point we didn't even recruit him until like a week before ESD. No **** Rumph wasn't able to flip him that late. Again, don't see why people are blaming Rumph for that one if he wanted the kid, but was basically overruled.

Josh Jobe, again if anything this one is on Banda. But actually this kid is just 100% af and was definitely payed to go to Bama. Why is Rumph being blamed for this one?

Campbell, finally a player that Rumph can actually be blamed for that isn't a ******* total ***** *** b**** . Campbell is a top 3 CB in the country, possibly the best. We are competing with UGA and Bama, who were both just playing in the national Championship. Obviously Rumph and he have a good relationship, but its entirely possible the ONLY reason we are even in it is because of Rumph. I mean look at all the schools he's been looking at, they've all been the top schools in the country and out of state: UGA, Bama, Clemson, tOSU and Miami have been the 5 main schools he's looked at from the beginning. Campbell was never an easy get and anyone that thinks he was is an idiot - regardless what his relationship with our CB coach is. Still this would be a loss for Rumph, but lets not act like because we lost Campbell, its 100% on Rumph. LASTLY, this one isn't even over with. Yall a bunch of defeated little pussies.

Divaad Wilson, again how is this on Rumph when we didn't even recruit him because he had "Beef" with other commits, mainly Frierson. I mean if anything thats Friersons fault we didn't go after him. This isn't on Rumph.

Patrick Surtain. I guess this one is on Rumph, but I wouldn't say he "lost" this recruiting battle since we were never in it to begin with. If we have <5% chance at getting someone at best, thats not someone that is a realistic target. Again, probably the only reason we even have that 5% chance is due to Rumph being the coach.

So yall literally want to fire Rumph SOLELY because we MIGHT miss out on Tyson Campbell. If that is your opinion, thats fine, but say that. Dont make up a bunch of other bs reasons to justify it.

"I will not take no for an answer" - Tyson Campbell's former head coach and alleged mentor.

Un-f'ing-believable

Asante, Surtain, Jobe, Campbell, leave South Florida while we turn to Nigel Bethel.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Wilson (another kid he knew forever), CJ Henderson, Brian Edwards...off the top of my head.

Swags hes been a failure recruiting almost at epic levels. Coaching at a position where YOU HAVE to be a great recruiter. Good guy, but man if he doesnt land Campbell. He is new orleans safety level from yesterday...like he shouldnt even show up for signing day at the office.

No one in the history of college football has ever hired a coach directly from HS who has been this cataclysmic of a failure in recruiting the school he left. It's almost comical at this point. Yet, there are still clowns excusing this nonsense.

Rick thought this guy had juice, and that's why he hired him. You don't hire a HS football coach to coach CBs only with the idea you are bringing in Bill Belichick or Vince Lombardi. He hired him to lock up recruits.

He's done a decent job with the CBs, but so what. So would almost anyone with coaching experience above Optimist football if all they had to do was coach 8 guys within the scheme laid out to him by the DC.

It sure is an oddity that coming out of the HS ranks he's been a decent to good power 5 position coach, and yet he's shown less ability to recruit kids he's known for years than Ray Charles showed to hit the curveball. I sure would have thought his likely weakness would have been on the coaching side of things.

Jobe is not on Surtain/Campbell’s level...

No doubt. And there is a gap between those 3 and ours.

Blame Rumph all you want but make sure you blame a lot of yourselves and most of your neighbors for making this the softest part of the country for a kid to leave to go play for some hilljack supported SEC team.

There's ZERO fear in ANY of these kids or their families about leaving here (and often outright disrespecting Miami as they do so). And I'm not talking stupid **** like fear of violence (even though Michael Irving said that'd have been the case for him) but just plain ol' fear of mass disappointment and social blowback.

Soooo go ahead and call for Rumph's head but make sure y'all hold every clown wishing every local kid well while sayin' "God bless! Go get yours!" and "You can rep da 305/954 anywhere!" to the same standard as they're just as much of the problem.

Can you imagine a kid at Tuscaloosa High throwing a Bama hat down at his signing day ceremony like the linebacker from Deerfield Beach did a few months ago? Or straight up goofing on them in a video like Jobe did?

Haha. Yep. Someone earlier deemed it "catastrophic for the program". Please. It's the general trend with Rumph's recruiting that could eventually be catastrophic- not this one specific kid......that'll we'll wish well....because he didn't burn a Miami hat in public during his recruitment.

I'm not even mad that they missed out on Campbell. I'm mad that they didn't have a better backup plan than Nigel ******* Bethel.

When Bama misses out on a 5 star recruit, they go and get another 5 star recruit to replace him. What do we do?
