Que the 'Golden to ...(fill in the blank)....job openings.

It is going to be MADDENING. **** Wetzel for starting this snowball that will be an avalanche of baseless news stories. Aside from the fact that we will be locked in a search for an AD at a time like this, awaiting sanctions, we will then have to endure the endless speculation as to why Eichorst left and when / if Golden will follow.

Also, I could give a rat's *** if Shalala is a good president or not. This is a football fan's message board.
 
Any other university president would have had to resign after the Shapiro/Shalala photo ops.

What a ridiculous comment. So she should have to resign for accepting a check while at a fundraiser, from a booster who at the time was thought to be legitimate? Yeah, that makes sense.

Really? By destroying every athletic program, and gloating about it? There are folks out there (48 of them if you believe in college rankings) that are better university presidents, that haven't turned elite sports teams into 8th place ACC buffoons.

Are there any presidents out there that have raised a school's national ranking as quickly as Shalala has...? University of Miami. You can always tell who actually went to The U by this argument.

Exactly. UM has risen faster in the rankings than any other school in the same time frame...and that wasn't a rise from the bottom where it's easier to rise. That was a rise from 51 to 38, which is even harder. As for her supposed dislike of the athletics programs, I hear people say it, but have seen zero evidence or rational argument for it.

Isn't Miami tied for 44th this year? The new rankings have been out for some time. People were quick to point at the 38. Not so quick to notice the 44.
 
I doubt shalala hires anyone with a past to the program.. Eichorst is going to a school where he doesn't have the worries like fund raising and filling seats... Thats alot of bread they are giving him to live in a corn field. We need a Golden type attitude for someone to come in and embrace the "U" brand with as much enthusiasm embracing the university as he did.
 
One common theme from everyone media, "UM sources", etc. that has commented: Who cares? We are better off without him.
