Good riddance. Shalala is 0 for life in selecting ADs, 1 for 3 in BBall coaches, 1 for 3 in football. And she cozied up to Shapiro and we are going to get spanked by the NCAA so hard, Penn State fans will feel sorry for us.

Usually every time I've changed companies it was because of looming NCAA sanctions, too.

Really? By destroying every athletic program, and gloating about it? There are folks out there (48 of them if you believe in college rankings) that are better university presidents, that haven't turned elite sports teams into 8th place ACC buffoons.
Eichorst should have never been here. He is not a fit for the community. He didn't like it here and never endeared himself to the community thus nobody liked him. His family was recently victimized in his home. And most importantly, he gets to return to the midwest and make a lot more money. Doubt the potential sanctions had much to do with him leaving, he would have left anyway.
That said, sacntions are coming and it will be bad. There is much we don't know, but there is some we do know and it is bad - ie, coaches involved with Shapiro, Pee Wee now using this to his advantage and talking more, Marve's 6th year of eligibility, length of investigation. It's going to be bad. Just get it over with, the sooner the better.

Are there any presidents out there that have raised a school's national ranking as quickly as Shalala has...? University of Miami. You can always tell who actually went to The U by this argument.

This. A fry cook changing jobs from McD's to BK has as much to with the "ongoing NCAA investigation" or "looming sanctions" as Eichort's job change does. Stop buying into the lazy beat-a-dead-horse-and-kick-a-program-while-it's-down journalism that's prevalent all over the internet.

Exactly. UM has risen faster in the rankings than any other school in the same time frame...and that wasn't a rise from the bottom where it's easier to rise. That was a rise from 51 to 38, which is even harder. As for her supposed dislike of the athletics programs, I hear people say it, but have seen zero evidence or rational argument for it.
Exactly. He left for two reasons. He's a mid-western boy anyway, and probably didn't feel all that comfortable in S. Florida. Then, the big one, he's getting paid almost $1 million, when I guarantee that UM was probably at most paying him $500-600k.

Yeah, I went to a different law school, when I saw how many idiots with 30 LSAT scores they were letting in. So don't try the "alumni" BS on me.

That said, you couldn't pay me enough to live in Nebraska. You have corn fields... and more corn fields. I just looked up Nebraska Tourism. You have the worlds largest ball of stamps and the some time capsule. Can't make that **** up.

There is probably someone on here who lives in Nebraska, so no disrespect. I would never want to live in Nebraska even if they paid me $2,000,000 per year. You have to work there and spend the majority of your time there, no ******* thanks.
I rather take the Miami gig even without my Miami bias.

She is a great president, she may not be the best for athletics but what she did for the school OVERALL is undeniable.
You got to remember that this is a University with a sports program. Not saying I agree with that but it is the truth.
So she has Al Golden...he is building a program
So she gets Jim Larranaga...he is starting/fixing a basketball program
She made mistakes, no doubt about it
1.) Haith (vomit)
2.) Shannon (no comment)
3.) Coker (1 NC but **** coach)
Not so good overall, but I think she has two guys in place (basketball and foozeball) that will make us great again. Better late then never.

This guy Sherminator was the worst call for an AD. Even without sanctions (which I think had no effect on why he left) he was an outcast from the ozarks and was not fit for a major diverse city. He had no ******* clue and wasn't going to learn on the job.
He was an albino ghost, who did little and spoke little. I think he was let go or he knew he was going to be let go and took the job at Neb.

I just googled it and it came up. For posterity I googled Florida tourism and got actual sites dedicated to Florida. Non such came up for Nebraska. I didn't look past the top 5.
I'm sure there are amazing things to see and nice places to live and Eichorst will be living it up. For me and many others... Nebraska just doesn't cut it though.
And Burt Reynolds is badass... Aside from that whole fsu thing.
