America loves a good comeback story.......don't they?
At the end of the day, the Mark Mays and Lou Holtzs of the world are always going to portray us as dirty thugs no matter how high our graduation rate is or how many old ladies we help across the street.
If its gonna be that way, why not just say f' it......we do it our way.
Bobby Petrino didn't break the law...he didn't break NCAA rules. He did something alot of powerful people do....the only problem is he got caught. After getting caught, he did what everyone does....he denied it.
So Bobby has been sitting in Western Kentucky for 18 months waiting for a call from a major program. He took a 3 mil dollar pay cut because of his transgression. You have to think the guy is humbled and understands that he has one more chance at this.
Why am I writing this? Because Petrino might just be the best offensive mind in college football not named Malzahan. The guy has an unreal record. He flat out wins whereever he goes. Arkansas went from an 11 win program in 2011 to a 3 win program in 2013. There would be no more excuses. Recruiting would not matter as much. The guy wins with whatever he has.
There are two people that could make this happen.
1. Lamar Thomas.....Lamar currently works for Bobby at Western Kentucky. Lamar is well respected around Coral Gables despite his recent TV issue. I have to imagine Lamar will work behind the scenes to have Blake and Donna consider Bobby. Lamar is also tight with Gino, Dan Marino, etc. He could start a ground swell of support for the guy as a the ultimate redemption project.
2. Jimmy Johnson......JJ might be the most influential person in the history of Miami football. He was very outspoken about Arkansas bringing Petrino back.

While there was no chance Arkansas could do it, you have to imagine JJ could convince the administration to give Petrino a second chance.
Petrino would be a homerun hire and dominate the ACC. We are a 10 win team next year with him at the helm and in a BCS game by year 2. No more excuses.....no more BS. Some program is going to be handsomely rewarded for giving this guy a chance. Just maybe he will be loyal to that program and stick around for a while.
Donna.....no more letting the media dictate the way we run our program. Lets do it our way.
