Because the local media has burned their bridges already. In the AD’s eyes, leaking visits and names when they’re not supposed to is a major red flag.

Add to that the podcast InsidetheU just published where they put out way too much information on Kirkland and a few other kids.

What podcast was this and what information did they say? Injuries?

I'm sorry but Mario just cannot go 0 for 2. He's getting a minimum of 5-6 years and if he blows the OC hire in his first 2 years good luck getting any kids to come here. There would absolutely be no positive to him hiring Nussmeier at this point.

Well it was our guy that said negotiations were getting serious. Candle should have been announced last weekend but something happened. At this point, it’s reasonable to think that Mario has moved on down his list.

I’m not gonna say that Mario didn’t offer the job to Candle, but there’s a narrative out there that Mario is taking a “**** or high water” approach with him that isn’t true.

I’m not sure if it’s the 247 guys making it up, or where the narrative is coming from and why

Yep, this narrative that he's holding us hostage two years in a row is suspect. Even the few insiders we do have don't seem to know much about the searches outside of a few bits it seems.

Keep up. We kept him under wraps. In fact, we actually had him sit in and participate in the other interviews when it was with someone who wouldn't know him. He was literally interrogating people for us for his own position.

Not a soul knew he was hiring Guidry. People just need to accept the fact this dude has a very, very tight circle and nothing real leaks.

What’s amazing is the lack of credible leaks. It’s one thing to control your inner circle so that nothing gets out from the Miami end; however, there are two sides to ongoing dialogue. Mario cannot control the candidate end of the communications. Yet, there are still zero leaks. Amazing.
