Certainly hope we find better but I wouldn’t be ****ed with an applewhite hire , think he’s proven enough to give us hope that we’d have a successful offense unlike Dawson and some of these other clowns being mentioned

I'm waiting to see what we end up with before passing judgment on this process.....having said that if after all this crap we end up with Major Applewhite....wow that would be a massive disappointment.

Was Fedora not available lol.

Holding on to hope for better but not getting a good feeling.

This smells like when the Ponce rumors surfaced last year and everyone freaked out that it was for OC, but it was as a position coach.

The fact that all these guys are QB coaches is slightly concerning though, unless the plan is to not have the OC coach a position

So, essentially….if there isn’t a private list of candidates that hasn’t been leaked, we’re fvcked. I love being a fan of this team!

Mario is bringing in candidates by the bus load trying to find that one perfect one for the **** offense he wants to run….still think that’s how we ended up with the last ******* cause everyone worth a sHT turned him down…

No clue. Not a name I'd ever heard; although, I should have remembered his name because he played for a conference rival. Young (under 40). Coached under a coach Mario is familiar with, so I'm sure Mario can vet him quite quickly with a call.
Ernie sims?

To have the OC also coaching QB is certainly preferable but the problem last year was Gattis per se and not the fact that he wasn't coaching QBs.

If the OC is also the WR coach but he has a good relationship with the QB coach and QBs in general it is not a major (no pun intended) problem IMHO.

People need to understand that Cristobal doesn’t want to run the kind of offenses that score a bunch of points.

And I get that sounds crazy. But it isn’t an uncommon mindset.

****, you can go back to the days of Paul Brown, when he started throwing the football. Opposing coaches would say that, “yeah, I could score a bunch if I threw it like he did. But I’d rather lose only scoring X, than win scoring Y, if Y meant I had to throw it.”

Nick Saban has said the same thing. He wants to run the ball, play strong defense, play field position, and win the game 17-14. That’s what he wants at his heart. But he acknowledges he can’t do that anymore, so has to adopt.

Not every coach says, “but…”. Some, like Will Muschamp, say, “and so that’s what I’m going to do.” They would literally rather lose trying to make the game what they want it to be, than adopt and win playing the game how the modern game has to be played.

Mario is not Paul Brown. He’s one of the coaches making fun of Paul Brown.
