The intensity of the fanbase here at CIS leaves us ripe for fake insiders and misinformation during key times like this.

This pop up insider may have quality information, but the best way to validate it is to drop D$ or another trusted admin, mod or maude with the insight/background.

I believe this saves all a lot of angst including the poster with the information.

By all accounts, D$ and others here are like a vault when it comes to individual personal privacy.

Totally fair, but I’m not sure it would solve the issues up until the hire. We would only find out afterwards. Maybe he shows once it’s done some evidence prior to the actual hiring, but based on his previous posts…my take is he isn’t trolling. Just my opinion however, and anyone else can perceive it how they want.

I just think it’s on par with this board to make definitive comments without looking into prior information (not suggested towards you, just in general).

It's insane to me that Mario was able to find a quality DC before hiring an OC, and it's especially damning considering how long he and everyone else knew that Gattis wasn't the guy for the job; he's had MONTHS to work on this and complete his due diligence. This shouldn't be so d@mn difficult, and it's really making me question how bad his rep is within coaching circles.

I've been scratching my head wondering what the issue is. I hope that somehow we get news of an excellent OC sometime next week and we turn into a scoring machine.

He’s only been in the NFL 1 year and as a position coach. Not sure teams are willing to risk him as an OC yet. Maybe the Eagles take a look since he is inside their organization and they know his work with Hurts.

But does Johnson wait to see or take a sure thing with Miami (if he was offered)?

If he wants to be a play caller in the NFL one day maybe taking one step back and becoming a high profile OC at the P5 level and showing success is his ticket.

I know he was OC under Mullen but it was brief and under his shadow. Now he can fully take the reigns at Miami and do his own thing.

Johnson did interview for OC spots with the Rams and Jets within the last few weeks. Each team went in another direction (Lafleur and Hackett). Possible he got some feedback from those interviews where they wanted to see him as a more autonomous OC and that could have him looking at a short stint as a college OC?

More than likely “diversity” interviews but not necessarily serious from those team’s end. But you could be correct that they’d like more experience.
