Nope. Candle was never a smoke screen. It was his job last year and then again t this year if he wanted it.

Every name I’ve heard I know has been around campus. There could always be a mystery name / names I don’t know about. I will say the names Lake has been putting out of late are accurate .

Regardless the interviewing stage is close to being finished .

I don’t really feel like digging into for you. If you’re actually interested, I’m sure you can take the time and do the research.

But it looks like Toledo’s defense was very good in 2021 based on F+.

If I had to guess, Toledo went up against a bunch of absolutely sh*tty defenses in 2021. Much like they do every year in the MAC.
Toledo’s defense completely dominated the sh*tty offenses on the schedule.
So Toledo’s offense was getting a lot of possessions, a lot of really good field position, and going up against sh*t defenses.
And yet, only scored 34 PPG and had 440 yards per game. So more like bulk of opportunity thanks to the defense, rather than competent offensive efficiency and explosiveness.

If I get 10 shots from a 3 point line, and hit 5 of them.
And you get 100 shots and hit 7 of them.
I’m a better shot than you are. Even though you will have made more and have more points than I do.

What you’re doing is wiping out the context, and just looking at the point total in the stat line.

You can't take an inordinately long amount of time AND have another Gattis. Mario better get this one right or he will eventually find his stay here an unpleasant one.

I'd take Streeter over Candle. We know how bad his QB was and they were better in his first year than they were under Tony Elliott with the same QB. Candle's offense has devolved from what we saw in 2017 and 2018. Maybe it is just the Clemson brand behind him but Streeter is no stranger to big time QB recruiting and winning. Does Candle want any part of that? He's never done it before.

Honestly, I can't see a program with aspirations picking Streeter. He needs to build up at a G5 stop after Dabo gave him the vote of no confidence after just one year.
