He lands splash players that bump up recruiting rankings, but his classes are very rarely balanced. Always heavy at a position or two then underwhelming at others.

If he was truly an “elite” recruiter, then players like 1, 2, 7, 19, 25, 70 (offense) aren’t starting or playing meaningful minutes in year three.

player development is 50% of process, we have a staff of recruiters who are very ordinary at player development

He isn’t an “elite recruiter.” The gap between Bama (under Saban), UGA, OSU, and recently Texas, and everyone else is bigger than anyone is willing to admit. He’s second tier. Which is a shame bc he needs first tier talent across the board to win.
I disagree I believe he is an elite recruiter but Miami just isn’t an elite program. Those teams you mentioned are elite on the field and with the monies

Then why wasn’t he bringing in top 3 classes at Oregon with elite levels of money? Lanning is doing just as well, probably better than Mario did on the trail up there.

Gotta mainly disagree. He has improved most of the position groups, but player development is nonexistent. Agree classes could be a little more balanced
This. Especially player development.
Not sure Dawson or Guidry are teachers at all. Dawson seems to be a x and o guy, but he doesnt have feel. Not sure what Guidry does tbh.

He was bringing in the the best classes Oregon ever has had at that time. Lanning has had 1 top 3 class but he is doing a good job there

Best classes at Oregon aren’t “elite” so that doesn’t mean anything to me. You said he’s an elite recruiter. His classes say he’s not. And the rosters he’s put together say he’s not.

Top 6-7 classes aren’t elite? Had the #4 class last year. Of course we aren’t recruiting at the level of bama, osu, uga, Texas but this program isn’t at those levels
