They barely beat a sputtering Clemson in Game 1 but that put them on the map, and they crushed the rest of their (wayyyy) overrated opponents.

I don't think anyone on this thread is arguing that Bama and Georgia don't deserve to be in the playoffs. They do. But the rest of their conference was a bunch of midgets relative to them. And to be honest, we really have no idea how good Georgia is. I cannot wait to see the semis.

Only the conference champion should have got in.

Make that game mean something. As evidenced by the Bowl games the SEC is weak af - you can't have 2 teams in the Playoffs based off the cupcake schedules they play.

For everyone saying the SEC sucks. They went 7-3 against the ACC in the regular season. When you have 2 teams in the playoffs it makes everyone get tougher bowls. They literally have a team that didn't even make the SECCG playing against the Big 12 champs later this week.

Florida got stomped by UCF.

Missouri lost to a Service Academy.

Auburn lost to a G5 school.

Miss St lost to the 9th best team in the Big 12.

None of these losses are excusable.

Florida beat FSU. Miss St. beat the 3rd or 4th best team in the ACC.

Look at what the ACC did in the bowl game. So far we are 0-1 with Louisville getting shredded through the air by a triple option team.

At the end of the day the SEC is a **** of a lot better than the ACC and is the best conf in the country. Only one that is even close is the big 10.

This is true. I think the SEC is better at the top. I think the Big 10 is better in the middle being more evenly matched and quality like look at Iowa and Iowa state, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan state… they’re not SEC level at the top end with Ohio State and Michigan at this point but they’ve got a really good conference in terms of middle of the pack teams.

Agreed. Everyone keeps saying "the bottom half of the SEC is trash" but they forget the bottom half of every conference besides the B1G is trash and the SECs trash is still significantly better than the ACC/Big 12/and pac12s.

Of course I root against the SEC every game they play since they take the majority of our recruits. I always root for teams that are far away from Miami. The further away the better. I would much rather Wash or Syracuse be the elite team. As opposed to UGA or Bama.

However, I am not going to say they suck, when they don't.

Louisville are terrible.

Wake Forest would have stomped Texas A&M.

It's Alabama, occasionally Georgia and LSU then a bunch of cupcakes.

Wake forest barely beat the "terrible" Louisville team.

So if the SEC is just bama, UGA, LSU and a bunch of cupcakes. That means according to you the entire ACC is a bunch of cupcakes. The entire Big 12 is a bunch of cupcakes. The entire Pac12 is a bunch of cupcakes. The B1G is OSU, UM and a bunch of cupcakes.
Which means, again, the SEC is the best conf and far and away better than the ACC.

Saying the SEC is the best conference is not slurping. Its stating a fact.

You think its better that we all just get together and pretend like these teams, that schit on ACC teams, are bad? What are we UCF and the AAC? Should we start printing out 2022 CFB national Champ sweaters since we beat the Pitt team that beat the vaunted Wake Forest Football team?

Most of the people in here saying "The sec sucks". Where the same ones saying "mario sucks" for the past 5 years because he wasn't our coach. Now suck his **** since he is our coach. If we were in the SEC people would be talking about how we have a tougher schedule than the Seattle Seahawks.

It’s definitely the teams at the top that make the SEC the toughest conference. Alabama and Georgia are probably the two best teams in the country. The problem is, the rest of the league is just riding their coattails. There’s nothing special about them despite public opinion being that they’re better than everyone else because…SEC. The bowl games are a good example. Yes, the four teams that lost weren’t at the top of their league but it’s not like they’re getting matched up against powerhouses from the other P5 leagues. We’re taking about two AAC teams, a service academy and a 6-6 Big12 program.

Now, there’s a good chance that Alabama or Georgia wins the championship and people in Fayetteville and Gainesville will pound their chests yelling “SEC” even though their teams weren’t particularly good because they feel like someone from their league winning validates them as a program. This is where they lose all my respect. When Clemson and FSU won titles, I didn’t give a crap. I wanted FSU to lose their title game.

The idea that middle of the road SEC teams would somehow dominate if they were in a different P5 conference is straight trash. The top teams are legit. The rest is a mishmash of decent teams and overrated bums and Vanderbilt.

But fans in the ACC don't go around every year saying that every team in the ACC can beat every team in any other conference. The SEC KoolAid drinkers can stfu. It's fun to watch SEC teams lose to any and all OOC competition.

Never has a school gotten a bump from moving conferences more than Texas A n M. While they were in the Big 12 they were rarely talked about.

Now the media can't keep them out of their mouths. Somehow now A n M are a powerhouse of college football.

There really truly is a SEC media machine and it works.
