Jaheim Singletary is there real interest? Not going to go through his 100 plus page thread of bs to determine if he has real interest

This is a big recruiting weekend, with an emphasis on the word “big.” Lots of heavyweights on campus.

- The top names are coming from the West Coast, and they are being treated like priorities. Elite OL Brandon Baker (Mater Dei, CA) gets most of the hype and deservedly so, but Miami is also sky high on his teammate DT Aydin Breland. They believe he is one of the most impressive-looking DTs in the nation and there is mutual interest. Oregon is main competition at the moment.

- LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (John Bosco, CA) is another California kid that is on campus this weekend. Miami loves his game, as do most schools around the country.

- TE Elija Lofton (Las Vegas, NV) is an exceptional all-around football player who is on campus this weekend and has Miami’s attention. He gets a lot of Brevin Jordan comparisons because of his school (Gorman), number (9) and size (6’2, 220).

- OL Mike Williams (Baltimore, MD) is a giant (6’7, 315) under-the-radar player that Mirabal loves. OL Juan Minaya (Paramus, NJ) is another big body on campus, but Williams seems to have more momentum right now.

- OL Nyier Daniels (Bergen Catholic, NJ) is another huge kid (6’7, 340) who has a lot of interest in Miami.

- Name to keep an eye on who is visiting this weekend- DL Wyatt Gilmore from Rogers, Minnesota. He is a big athlete (basketball player) with room to grow. Miami loves his upside, but there will be competition.

- Expect Miami to turn up the heat on WR Jerrae Hawkins from IMG. He tore it up at their combine and is earning some Jaylen Waddle comps in the building.

- Two names at RB that Miami likes more than most Ca’lil Valentine (Phoenix metro) and Kewan Lacy (Dallas metro).

- They are still evaluating hard at QB. They absolutely love recent offer Judd Anderson (Gray, GA). He is a legit 6’6 with a basketball background. Still developing as a passer, but if he takes a leap as a senior he will be flooded with offers. Miami is also intrigued by Danny O’Neil (Indianapolis, IN), who is on campus this weekend. He has no offer yet but is on the radar. They are still after Air Noland (Atlanta metro) and rave about his intangibles. While Tyler Van Dyke is the unquestioned QB1 and Miami loves Jacurri Brown, a transfer to add veteran depth to the room is not out of the question.

- South Florida is a little weak at DB, but the folks in Hecht are very high on CB Ricky Knight III (Benjamin).

- Because of the difficulty relying upon Tre’Vonte Citizen coming off injury, expect Miami to pursue a starting-caliber transfer running back. I’d also expect a starting-caliber safety with James Williams playing more snaps in a hybrid role. And they are still after a big DT. They don’t just want a plugger- they want size and athleticism and won’t settle.

- The Jaheim Singletary (Georgia transfer) noise is real. He can contribute at cornerback or safety.

- Miami loves the early returns on WRs Ray Ray Joseph and Robby Washington. Because of that, they are focusing strictly on outside guys for the 2-3 transfer WR spots. They want deep speed and/or length. Gary Bryant, Jr. (USC transfer) and Tyler Harrell (Alabama transfer) remain firmly in the mix.

- Backup center is a position to watch this spring. In a welcome change from the past, we look stronger outside than at the pivot. The freshmen get a ton of attention, and rightfully so, but the staff also loves OL Matthew McCoy. If someone falls behind at the OT battle, don’t be surprised to see them get a look at center.

It's good to see this coaching staff is smart enough to recognize that JW is many things and has potential....but he is NOT an every down safety. In college, he's a weakside LB all the way.

Make the move before it's too late and you waste the kid's career here. This is another Ray Ray Armstrong situation. He should be closer to the line of scrimmage, which is where his skill set can best be utilized and developed.

We haven't had good back to back classes for two decades now. If Mario pulls off another Top 10 class, the flywheel goes in motion. Every class is important, this one is the most important since the Butch years IMO because all the other pieces are in place.

So Portal targets are QB, RB, S, DT and X Receiver? IMO, they still need another LB and an RT. I'd rank those:
1. WR
2. S
3. [RT]
4. DT
5. [LB]
6 and 7 RB and QB, not only because we have starters there, but also because I don't think anyone good will come to be a backup.
I agree of course but I wasn’t just talking about the ranking, I mean the sheer size of these kids

The OL class we just brought in gotta average like 6-5 320

I still think X and Brashard are the main guys in 2023. But I agree these two will be weaponized in an air raid. Super excited to see how Dawson utilizes his slots and RBs.
If the O line is better which it should be I would love to see packages with B smith and Ray Ray in the backfield together.

@Memnon

re: James Williams

When he was being recruited...I remember you comp'ing him to Hamsah Nasirildeen. Thought that was a bit of an undersell at a time...but daps for having the correct bearings on that one.

Too big to be a pure Safety, not physical enough to be a pure LB.

Which = Hybrid

Love to see the outreach to players from California. Special attention to kids from Mater Dei and St John Bosco. Bosco was rated the best team in the US in 2022, just beating out their in league rival, Mater Dei. Mater Dei has two recent Heisman trophy winners: Bryce Young and Matt Leinart.

Mario knows those schools very well. Let’s bring some to Miami!

Make sure to ship some of your great wine on the same flight!

I hope you learned your lesson, @DMoney ...Ferman has created a cottage industry of Miami-fan porsters who project "position-change" onto every physically talented Miami player...so when you put a tiny drop of blood in the water by mentioning James Williams playing anywhere but 10 yards from the line of scrimmage...the position-change sharks are going to have a feeding frenzy...

🤣
I have never called for any position changes ever. Good clarification though regardless. Playing closer to the line of scrimmage does not make a LB. Mannys “striker” position was perfect example.

Very possible cause and I hope that’s what it was cause the kid has stud written all over him and could be the next AA safety
I’m not saying it’s inaccurate information but hasn’t Macho told us for years this kid really doesn’t like to hit?

Let them compete, and play the top guy.

Well, if you went through the 100+ pages, you would see that the answer was given multiple times. Yes, there is real interest.
