What is the timeline for Citizen? Summer? Some time during the season? This is a big recruiting weekend, with an emphasis on the word “big.” Lots of heavyweights on campus.
- The top names are coming from the West Coast, and they are being treated like priorities. Elite OL Brandon Baker (Mater Dei, CA) gets most of the hype and deservedly so, but Miami is also sky high on his teammate DT Aydin Breland. They believe he is one of the most impressive-looking DTs in the nation and there is mutual interest. Oregon is main competition at the moment.
- LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (John Bosco, CA) is another California kid that is on campus this weekend. Miami loves his game, as do most schools around the country.
- TE Elija Lofton (Las Vegas, NV) is an exceptional all-around football player who is on campus this weekend and has Miami’s attention. He gets a lot of Brevin Jordan comparisons because of his school (Gorman), number (9) and size (6’2, 220).
- OL Mike Williams (Baltimore, MD) is a giant (6’7, 315) under-the-radar player that Mirabal loves. OL Juan Minaya (Paramus, NJ) is another big body on campus, but Williams seems to have more momentum right now.
- OL Nyier Daniels (Bergen Catholic, NJ) is another huge kid (6’7, 340) who has a lot of interest in Miami.
- Name to keep an eye on who is visiting this weekend- DL Wyatt Gilmore from Rogers, Minnesota. He is a big athlete (basketball player) with room to grow. Miami loves his upside, but there will be competition.
- Expect Miami to turn up the heat on WR Jerrae Hawkins from IMG. He tore it up at their combine and is earning some Jaylen Waddle comps in the building.
- Two names at RB that Miami likes more than most Ca’lil Valentine (Phoenix metro) and Kewan Lacy (Dallas metro).
- They are still evaluating hard at QB. They absolutely love recent offer Judd Anderson (Gray, GA). He is a legit 6’6 with a basketball background. Still developing as a passer, but if he takes a leap as a senior he will be flooded with offers. Miami is also intrigued by Danny O’Neil (Indianapolis, IN), who is on campus this weekend. He has no offer yet but is on the radar. They are still after Air Noland (Atlanta metro) and rave about his intangibles. While Tyler Van Dyke is the unquestioned QB1 and Miami loves Jacurri Brown, a transfer to add veteran depth to the room is not out of the question.
- South Florida is a little weak at DB, but the folks in Hecht are very high on CB Ricky Knight III (Benjamin).
- Because of the difficulty relying upon Tre’Vonte Citizen coming off injury, expect Miami to pursue a starting-caliber transfer running back. I’d also expect a starting-caliber safety with James Williams playing more snaps in a hybrid role. And they are still after a big DT. They don’t just want a plugger- they want size and athleticism and won’t settle.
- The Jaheim Singletary (Georgia transfer) noise is real. He can contribute at cornerback or safety.
- Miami loves the early returns on WRs Ray Ray Joseph and Robby Washington. Because of that, they are focusing strictly on outside guys for the 2-3 transfer WR spots. They want deep speed and/or length. Gary Bryant, Jr. (USC transfer) and Tyler Harrell (Alabama transfer) remain firmly in the mix.
- Backup center is a position to watch this spring. In a welcome change from the past, we look stronger outside than at the pivot. The freshmen get a ton of attention, and rightfully so, but the staff also loves OL Matthew McCoy. If someone falls behind at the OT battle, don’t be surprised to see them get a look at center.
- Two names at RB that Miami likes more than most Ca’lil Valentine (Phoenix metro) and Kewan Lacy (Dallas metro).
He was physical after the whistle blew and had a bunch of late hits and unsportsmanlike penalties. I just want him to work on his discipline and play smartNot sure about this kid and playing LBer or any other position where you need to tackle…he always looked like he shied away from contact to me..jmo
Just want to be clear on this: James Williams is still the starting safety. But if we get another starter there, and Markeith Williams develops like we hope, he can play down more. The best news of this is James Williams moving hybrid and possibly being in the run for Singletary.
To me that’s exactly like moving Frierson to hybrid and we getting Stevenson.
Not saying the same players comparatively at all. Just reminiscent.

Have to get a kid who is maybe going into his 2nd year, backed up behind a deep QB room, that would look at UM as 1). Being the back up this season 2). Going in if TVD is nicked up again 3). Chance to be the starter in 2024.Not sure how they get a decent QB out of the portal and expect him just to come here just for depth….QBs in the portal are looking to go somewhere to get playing time.
From what I heard it was at least ACL / MCL, to a severe degree. Big issue is "how does he heal / scar tissue". McGahee was off the charts in his healing .... almost NO scar tissue in his healing process so rehab went dramatically fast and his recovery was basically almost a full year sooner than initially projected. I was rehabbing a labrum surgery at Doctors Hospital at the time Willis was in rehab. The techs said they had never seen anything like it ... as in ... almost no scar tissue to deal with. Hope Citizen has some of the same genes!! Kid was one of the best RB's in his class, a real nice kid, really want to see him reach his pre accident potential and go on to have a great career. These things can be literally life changing. What is the timeline for Citizen? Summer? Some time during the season?
I don't know how bad the injury was, but its been said on here that it was pretty **** bad. Has there been any setbacks or anything?
Will we be bringing the recruits to the basketball game Saturday night vs. Pitt? Should be a great environment at the Watsco

Huge news, if they like Robby and Ray Ray that much that they are completely pivoting to outside guys that must mean they expect those two to play a real role this year.
Edit: as I’ve said since October 2022, Ray Ray will be a freshmen ACC all American
Major emphasis on national recruiting!!! Dudes from Indiana, Phoenix, Vegas, Georgia, Baltimore, cali. Love love love to see it.
Wonder when we will start seeing Louisiana guys pop up
Between last class and this one we are recruiting some ******* monsters
