if we don't get guys who bleed orange and green then we are simply making mistakes!

enough with the diva mentality transfers! give me a boatload of dudes who will die for Miami!
we certainly hired dudes that would die for miami. one of them sued our *** when we didnt pay him his buyout

I saw this one and it is a fair counterpoint. I obviously didn't watch enough of Cal to know whether it was the OL or Mendoza holding the ball or a combination of the two.

There are also plenty of articles out there where the Cal coaching staff admitted that its OL stunk out loud and getting rid of the ball quicker is coachable.

So my main point was just that comparing Mendoza's stats to Ward's stats is not an apples to apples comparison and not necessarily indicative of how good (or bad) Mendoza is.

Still would like to see us pursue Singleton or Rivers harder, but it’s not the worst update.

Would also like to pursue Klare as TE1, especially if we don’t come away with an alpha WR1. Arroyo showed how valuable a receiving threat can be as a TE; Lofton could get there but not sure he’s truly ready, Williams I’m meh on as a receiver. Klare is the goods.

Blay looks solid, need another DT imo that isn’t the UCF kid.

Corners and Safeties, can’t grab enough. Especially the former.
singleton said we out.

and rivers is signed.

2 throws behind the LOS. One 2 yard crosser. One 3 yard out. And a decent 12 yard out. Not a lot of zip on any. No bigtime throws. Yeah... think i'm going to need more.

Dorsey played over 20 years ago on the most stacked roster we might ever see. The game has changed, as have the roster depth with portal/NIL.
Hoping Emory plays in the bowl game so we can see what he’s got

Are we up again ?

When it comes to the defense... we have young, high end talent and numbers at DL and LB from the last few recruiting cycles. That talent needs to be developed. If we can't develop the young talent we have acquired over multiple recruiting classes then what are we even doing here with this coaching staff. The secondary is where the infusion of high end talent is desperately needed. Load up there, develop your young guys at LB and DL and there is no reason to not be fielding a very good defense in the fall. Can't build an entire team of 1 year hired mercenaries. Won't work.

You can sprinkle in hand-selected tone-setters to be competitive and fast-track your progression. A transfer can elevate the competition and support development. They all need to compete in practice. Key is to develop a foundation that requires less transfers over time.

The statement about portal rules leads me to believe they are in contact with Ewers. So it's Ewers or Mendoza in my mind.
Unfortunately yeah that’s what it seems like.

I’d take Mendoza over Ewers. Ewers is legit going to want/command double Mendoza. And Ewers will likely need to compete against like Oregon and Bama. Just lock up Mendoza or lure a guy with a do not contact rage like Robertson/Hoover and be done with it…

Honestly I rather just have a free treasure chest to spend in Spring and not get Ewers at all and just rock with Emory v Nickel idc

I would take Mendoza in a heart beat if that means saving money to land a better defense. Ewers is not all that. He has regressed.

Encouraging with the Lucas and Brantley info. Those guys definitely bring depth and raise the floor of the room. Still NEED to recruit that position better out of HS. Pretty embarrassing we can’t get elite talent out of HS there.
