I don’t believe Gilbert is ready for a blocking role year 1. He is tall but skinny (250 iirc).

I mean he’s tall and not fat but I saw him at a game this year and he’s got some mass to him. Looks nothing like Jackson Carver for example. Honestly, if he enrolls early, he’s probably 6’6 260 by September

Slightly projecting. He’s way bigger than 205. This lists him at 225 which I would guess is accurate

I’d like to put pancake at RT am Francis inline TE at least once per game if only to see that freight train take on a lb or safety one on one in the run game. Heck, he’s athletic enough for a jump pass or 2 in the redzone too if they bring in a heavy package against us.

Yeah tough when he was playing against tiny comp he looked like a monster out there

But we should know by now that these guys get here and are rarely ready S&C wise like a Mauigoa or Lofton was

If anyone is interested in seeing Bauman against P4 competition, here are all-22 clips of Mensah from Tulane’s games against K-State and Oklahoma this year. Bauman is #87 and is in all of the plays except 3 of them by my count.

It's accurate. But Bauman and Brockermeyer pickups don't strike me as moves you make if you plan on bro balling on Offense next year. They both are much better in the pass game than they are in the run game.
