He's more of a receiver than a blocker right now, although he's willing.

Source raves about his hands and football mindset. Core special teamer as well.

I don't think he's replacing Arroyo by himself but he will help.
I like the little I’ve seen of him, he looks very fluid and at ease with the ball in his hands.

I’d loved to pair him with his QB but that ship has sailed.

Don’t think he needs to replace Arroyo. That’s Lofton’s role in my eyes. Maybe slightly different usage.

Schott = 2024 Lofton and Bauman = 2024 Williams

Still missing a McCormick but that’s not a lot to ask for someone like Carver or Gilbert to try to do. Sneak through uncovered and catch a TD pass a few times and throw some nice blocks pulling or on the edge leading a tunnel screen or a RB off tackle. Lofton probably takes that role himself as well.

1) loften shott. Receiving role
2) bauman Gilbert blocking role
Bauman a + replacements for McCormick/Williams as inline receiving threat, but a - replacement as a blocker. If Carver/Gilbert aren't ready to be blocking inline TEs yet, I wonder if we don't see Samson (if he's still around after the Spring) as a sixth OL in short yardage like we saw his freshman year before he got hurt?
