Golden's first class produced 2 impact guys one of which committed the former regime. Dorsett and Perryman. You can add chick if you want but i don't care much for guys who start on the worst group in school history and contribute heavily to such cause. nevermind, we'll inlcude chick, pierre and bolton. 5 guys. the other 15 have done nothing. That's not a wasted class?

Gone from first class of 19 since gadbois came the next year

darius smith
antonia kennard
junior alexis
thomas finnie
eddie johnson
ginna paul
jalen grimble
ricardo williams
corey king?

plus non factor like hunter wells.

I guess this is accpectable now.

2 Impact Guys?

1. Flowers
2. Duke Johnson
3. Eddie Johnson
4. Perryman
5. Dorsett

Plus all our starters, but there are NO IMPACT GUYS!!!!

Nobody gets anytime to develop either. If they are not studs before their junior year they are NON-IMPACT GUYS!!!

Ding dong hello? Is anybody home? Are flowers, Johnson from the 2011 class ( would be jr's). Do u ever think before you cry? Ding dong hello is anybody there? Ding dong.....

Post starts off......." Goldens first class...." Then proceeds to name Johnson and flowers. Smh. Ding dong hello?

Negged for saying "Ding dong hello" way too much.. that is one of the most annoying posts I have ever read.

2009 was almost entirley on Coker as OC. AWFUL! He should have been fired after the PSU debacle.

But DEavis at that time shares blame, he was a crazed man on the sidline. Dude made Shannon look like a piker when it came to 12 men on the field, 10 men on the field, etc. Sideline circus.

Watch our losses in 2009. All occured because we compounded mistakes.

You mean 1999, right? And honestly, I think Kenny Kelly deserves a fair share of blame for that year

Everytime he rolled out in that PSU game, he made big plays. Hard to believe Coker had a shotgun and roll out QB but insisted on keeping him in the pocket were he was awful (Berlin?)

Coker should have been fired seconds after the PSU game.

It wasn't his first class he had less than a month to recruit, it was a BS class which was attempted during the dead period. How many official visits were set up? How many relationships were forced? 2011 was an attempt to save a corpse left ny a mummy. 2012 is his first real class.

Ding dong wash your ****.

That's his first class rather you want to acknowledge it or not is meaningless to the fact. Saban, tressel, carrol etc had less time than that and still managed. Weak excuse from someone who doesn't know cfb.

Could be, k9. Man, this team could use a win over the Gator, bad. Funny thing, we get a win Saturday, all of a suddenly people will start to notice Miami, then it's a whole different set of circumstances to deal with.... In a good way, of course. Big game...

I'm sorry dude...I just can't buy one word of that. There isn't much I would trade in return for a guaranteed victory this saturday.

Since when was winning the ACC the goal? The goal is to get back to consistently being a top 5 team who competes for NC'S. You compete for NC's by stockpiling the roster with blue chip talent. It becomes easier to attract that blue chip south florida talent when you beat your most hated in state rival who also happens to recruit the same state well.

Give me a win on saturday...all else be damned.

You dont stockpile blue chip talent under NCAA investigation and sanctions against attractive cut throat in state rivals. You manage the best u can. So far this HC is doing a pretty good job of keeping us afloat.

This. Yes, we have been outrecruited BAD as of late. Wins and ridding ourselves of the NCAA albatross around our neck are the only things that will change that.

not sure about the outcome, but this game has the same type of feeling as '99 Penn State to me as us finally being able to hang with a top ranked team. Hopefully not another loss like that though, that was brutal.

Don't think the situations - now and that era - are similar.

It's a huge game because we have not won a single primetime matchup in the Golden era. I'm less worried about sparking the next great era for our program and more concerned about seeing some evidence that we're being led by someone who can do more with less. Golden has done "more with less" from every standpoint other than on the field. It's time to transfer that ability to the scoreboard. Let's do this.
Its time for this team under Golden to start showing it on the field.

the difference between this season being more like 99( where UM went 9-4) or 2000( when they were national title contenders).

I think it's this simple, beat the Gators and this team swells with confidence and is a threat to anyone on their schedule( which is laid out very nicely this season) but if they lose, well, who' knows?

This game is at home, they come in healthy and this perhaps the best team UM has had in years. This game is huge in so many respects. I think it's one of those games that can potentially have ramifications far beyond the afternoon that it's played on.

But back to my original statement, do you agree or disagree?

I disagree in the sense that I don't think this one game makes or breaks us because we are who we are; a team that is headed in the right direction but not there yet. I know you reference 99, but we could have beaten Penn State and we still wouldn't have been a national title contender. Kenny Kelly would have still been the erratic inaccurate QB that he was, and we still would have lost to a FSU team that was better than us and a Va Tech team that was better than us. I'm excited about this season, but I don't have this delusion of grandeur that we are something that we are not.

just my .02
Deadon. We don't have the depth nor the talent that was on that D.

K9,

I don't see it as 2000. In 2000, our defense was filthier than it is now, particularly on the Dline. That 2000 team knew it was special. On the other hand, the 1999 team figured out late that it could be special. They beat UCLA, had an epic offseason strength and conditioning summer, and came back very focused for 2000. UCLA was the trigger win. We haven't had that trigger win. Maybe this it, or maybe it's FSU. The program has to win a game of that magnitude.

UCLA was 98.
What the... NO way this is the real Wushah, must be an imposter.

golden has transformed all elements of the program. all of them. conditioning, culture, work ethic, nutrition, study habits . . . and now for the first time all of this translates into a significant on the field victory.

congrats to the coach and his staff and especially to the players.
