He literally just fell on his head. The most unathletic play everUp 38-6 and your QB gets concussed running the ball. Got to love Narduzzi
Yeah I think all of us are feeling Syracuse pain in this oneSomeone else gets a career long fg kicked against them…. Nice lol
Without looking at any updates, it was 7 in the 90s.
No it’s definitely not. I’ve seen that same stat.I read a stat somewhere that we lead the country in QB pressures. I don't think our DLine is the problem at all
That’s why he’s been so good on D for so long regardless of the talent level. Only a few years of his career are an exception and he’s had an elite offense in one of them to cover for it.This is Narduzzi's blueprint. He doesn't change. His corners play man and the safties play zone. He plays man even if the corners aren't good. He's been doing it for years. They rely on pressure up front and playing tight coverage. If they get beat. they get beat.
His philosophy is they'll win on defense more than they'll lose getting his defense off the field.
Youbdo realize that you just described a 4-2-5 schemeThis is Narduzzi's blueprint. He doesn't change. His corners play man and the safties play zone. He plays man even if the corners aren't good. Play defense like we saw all last year against TVD… play zone let the Dline eat and let the QBs dunk and dunk you till they make a mistake and self sabotage… or you hold them to 3 while your offense is throwing up 40-50 a game.No it’s definitely not. I’ve seen that same stat.
Just saying they look a lot more aggressive and simplistic on the DL while we’re overthinking and running a ton of wide stunts and twists. They keep it simple and just reset the LOS.
I think we could be that much more effective up front is what I’m trying to say. What I remembered seeing from us a year ago.
Yes, but they look different. We haven't played that well since Florida. In the Florida game you had a lot of tight coverage and gang tackling. Now, it's soft coverage, missed tackles, and solo tackles.Youbdo realize that you just described a 4-2-5 scheme
You know who else uses that scheme?
I’ll hold out on any opinions on what we should do until I see what we look like with ZP playing more. I really think it’s 1 guy maybe 2 guys letting it go off the rails.Play defense like we saw all last year against TVD… play zone let the Dline eat and let the QBs dunk and dunk you till they make a mistake and self sabotage… or you hold them to 3 while your offense is throwing up 40-50 a game.
Guidry is making this way to hard on himself or trying to be cute to get splash plays to help get him a HC gig… either way he’s ruined that idea and needs to just simmer
Can you do conference games only? We turned into zombies since conference playI understand it is a totally different thing going on tonight, but coming into this game they were the 61st D by yards (353) and 65th by points (23.5).
For comparison, Miami is 21st (306) and 57th (22.57).
I had no idea this was possible previously, but the ACC site lets you filter to conference only stats and oh man the differenceCan you do conference games only? We turned into zombies since conference play
There is some legit concern about the scheme. Running a DL stunt on 2 and 2 that clears out the entire left side was just beyond dumb. Led to an easy 46 hard TD by Brown.I’ll hold out on any opinions on what we should do until I see what we look like with ZP playing more. I really think it’s 1 guy maybe 2 guys letting it go off the rails.
We looked good early in the year. Obviously not a ton of competition but I think it made Guidry have a false sense of confidence in what we could do. Got too advanced too quickly for the talent we have. Now confidence is shot and we’re playing hesitant with pressure on.
I’ve said several times I think we get it figured out. Not putting much stock into the next 2 games if they shut it down it still might not be fixed. 2 of the worst offenses in the P5. Bad showings might change my mind though.

I should add that those results include Pitt's win tonight and their previous two games were UNC (who is terrible this year) and Cal (who averages 21 a game including their 38 against us). VT and Louisville are significantly better offensive teams - at least by in conference stats - than UNC and Syracuse. Obviously the common opponent of Cal does not bode well.I had no idea this was possible previously, but the ACC site lets you filter to conference only stats and oh man the difference

Appreciate you putting it on wax so people can see. I dont think people realize we are acc worst, worse than stanford, nc state, wake. This is not a 1 player issue. You dont look THAT bad just off one player.I had no idea this was possible previously, but the ACC site lets you filter to conference only stats and oh man the difference
