NFL Super Bowl Thread

Reminds me of when the Doors did the Ed Sullivan Show and straight up lied when they asked them to change the lyrics to "Light My Fire". After the show when the band was informed that they would never be invited back to the show, Morrison said "We just DID the Ed Sullivan show". It had that same vibe.
NFL bowed down to a certain someone removing the "End Racism" slogan from the endzones, but they controlled Kendrick Lamar going straight at Trump, who left the game in the third quarter.

Riiiiiiiiight, next time we should go back to Kid Rock or something.

You know, it's possible to not like a performance because you can't understand a single word and it's just a bunch of noise and jumping around.

America would be better if buffoons like yourself would throw away their race cards any time someone non-white gets criticized.
Why am I not surprised you didn't understand "40 acres and a mule"? Huh...

You called Kendrick Lamar in the same sentence with autotune, I think everyone can blissfully ignore your position on what good music is.
You think that audio last night was 100% natural? Dude was jumping around constantly and never once had a variation in his vocals. That was autotune, backing tracks, and maybe lip syncing because I definitely heard him "singing" when his mouth wasn't moving.

I prefer people that actually sing and play instruments. That's real talent. Not mumbling jibberish and jumping up and down.

Autotune on a live mic, good lord...

You still don't get it, and never will. You really think the NFL was cool with the whole stadium calling Drake a sexual deviant? You really think that the NFL was fine with Kendrick calling out the hypocrisy of not only the league, but our entire country on GLOBAL TV? Stop it. They were likely hoping that he would do what he did when he performed with Dre, do some hits, and keep it moving. K Dot basically did the polar opposite, and he knew he had the NFL up against the wall. What were they going to do? Fire him a week before the show?

Then again, the same people whining about this halftime show, are the same people begging for a drug addled Lil Wayne to perform. We know why and it sure as **** doesn't have anything to do with "It's in New Orleans". They love clowns, K Dot isn't anyone's clown and he proved it with this halftime show. It's not for everyone, but hip hop once upon a time wasn't for everyone, it was a revolutionary art form that spoke to things that the mainstream wanted to pretend didn't exist. Then as is the case with most art worth a ****, Corporate America got involved and here we are.
Not sure what halftime show you were watching but I can assure you 90% of those that did watch it didn't share your conspiracy theory outlook....
You chose race instead of logic...

This has clearly shifted from talking about the game to debating halftime show and its governance….so, why not…

I for one didn’t enjoy the halftime show - if we’re going to go hip-hop genre then imo it should be someone that can change gears with song selections (Drake/Pharrell) or go with someone that can truly entertain like the Missy Elliott’s of the day. Could even do a collaboration of Hip-Hop/R&B so you’re reaching multiple sectors of fans and all can enjoy.

The Michael Jackson SB shows are a thing of the past but we certainly can do better than a flat out Rap concert or a Country Music Festival……ideally a great halftime show is a well-blended show that lies somewhere in the middle
Did you actually mention changing gears and Drake in the same sentence? LOL.

Accuses others of conspiracies but claims the NFL controlled every piece of Kendrick Lamars performance. Sure.

Kendrick Lamar called one of the biggest popstars in the industry a pedophile on company ground and insulted the president with Samuel L. Jackson playing "Uncle Sam".

Keep believing the NFL controlled **** here. If they tried, K-Dot would've dropped out with zero issue. He didn't need to do the Super Bowl show, he chose to do so because he can.
Samuel didn't insult the Prez playing uncle sam... I actually thought Samuel did well in the role... No harm there... Unless you want to force harm on it with obnoxious rhetoric.... Which I guess you do....

I mean you know they rehearse this stuff to get timing down and such right??? Like he just doesn't go out there and play on the fly... It's a choreographed show that has producers and costume designers and dance teachers and directors and camera people and so on and so on.... This is a TV show run by the NFL.... C'mon man...

Yeah, no, you're right, we got it.

Roger Goodell went to Kendrick and said "you can attack Trump on live TV and call Drake a pedophile on live TV... and yeah, Samuel L Jackson should be playing Uncle Sam".

Pretty sad our society is entertained by that horse **** that was aired at halftime. Just some mumbling, autotune crap. It would be nice to see the NFL put real musicians on stage as it makes for a better show.

As for the game, KC's OL might press charges on Philly's DL for assault/battery.
What we not going to do is act like Kendrick is anything near a mumble rapper or someone who makes music without substance.

He’s literally a Pulitzer Prize winner for a reason. Bet you didn’t know that. He literally is one of the faces of “real music”. You probably had no idea.. cause your idea of real music don’t look like him.

I’m mad you got me even standing up for Kendrick and I’m a Drake fan lol

I feel for ya... Hopefully you'll find some peace in your heart... It was just a show...

I agree... I'm not saying I didn't like it cause of something personal towards Kendrick... It's just not my thing.... I'm pretty open to all kinds of music and such , I just thought for that moment in a Superbowl halftime show it was a bad fit...
