Know talking about front running but thoughts on this?

It appears to be a reaction to the wokeness of the existing exchanges, and its no coincidence that Blackrock is involved and it will be based in Texas, which has banned them from managing state money.

  • A group backed by Wall Street heavyweights BlackRock and Citadel Securities is planning to start a new national stock exchange in Texas, aiming to take on what they see as onerous regulation at the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. The Texas Stock Exchange, which has raised approximately $120 million from individuals and large investment firms, plans to file registration documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission later this year, CEO James Lee told The Wall Street Journal. The goal is to begin facilitating trades in 2025 and host its first listing in 2026. The exchange is aiming to tap in to disaffection with increasing compliance costs at Nasdaq and NYSE and newer rules like one setting targets for board diversity at Nasdaq. Backers of the TXSE, as it is known, pledge it will be more CEO-friendly.

BTW, Citadel is owned by Ken Griffin, who recently donated $50MM to UM's medical school
And has donated to Nicklaus children’s.

Show me the law then.

Based on the specifics of the suspected behavior, stock market manipulation can be charged under various federal statutes. Many instances of stock market manipulation are charged under the umbrella of falsely manipulating the price of a commodity, punishable by:

Fines of up to $1 million and
Up to 10 years in prison (7 U.S.C. 13).

At its heart, however, stock market manipulation is considered a form of securities fraud, and more severe instances may be charged as such under 18 U.S.C. 1348 securities and commodities fraud. A conviction under this statute can result in up to 25 years in prison.

I believe he posted he has a long position with the stock. If he were to sell shares quickly after telling everyone he is in it for the long run, that would be a pump and dump, right?

He is also a well known player in the stock and could be considered a market maker, and he knew that his post would have a huge effect on the stock.

And to clarify, I am not saying he is definitely guilty, just that a reasonable case could be made against him.

Right so absolutely zero about insider trading.

Show me a single post where he has said anything. Literally all he has done is post memes and his holdings. And yall are accusing him of stock manipulation.

Again tell me how any of these stockholders who go on CNBC or who are short sellers trying to tank a stock to make money aren’t guilty as well then?

Who has said those people aren't also breaking the law? You asked for the laws and I provided them.

Do I care? Not one freaking bit as it is all speculation IMO.

Now if the investors start to distrust the market, we could see a massive sell-off as people look for safer investments including Bonds, Treasuries, Real Estate, Metals...

The point is those people are literally going on tv talking about it, where as this dude has literally only posted memes and his trades. Yet yall think it's at all reasonable that Etrade would even consider kicking him off. You have even said he IS breaking the law, even though you have no evidence except he made trades and is up big right now. It's absolutely insane.

And no I specifically responded to someone else asking for the law about front running and how that wouldn't require insider information.

The investors that are losing because of this are the ones that manipulate the market and are ****ed others would deign make them lose money instead.

Good God. Half a billion? What was his total investment?
$53K was his initial TOTAL investment a couple years ago when this all started. That profit led him to adding to his position. He scheduled a Youtube Livestream for tomorrow. He has options to buy like 12M shares at $20/share ($240M cost), that many think he'll buy live... He owns 5M shares, so he'll sell whatever he has to to afford the $240M (as long as it's above $42/share he's good, and it's currently >$60/share in after hours).

And if he buys those options, the stock price could skyrocket if everyone is holding for the memes...
