Stephen Morris's last drive....

This is exactly why Miami fans have a bad rep. Dude plays a lights out game in a hostile environment and we got people saying he's terrible. Ridiculous.

Most were saying we get blown out. Now Morris sucks after a great game. I am not sure why some even watch football. There is never going to be a perfect game. The reality is there is another team trying to stop you.

He's god awful. Those were all basic throws and Davon's YAC really made the difference. He missed on a ton of big plays today.

Made a lot of mistakes but pulled it together and was making nice throws...so eat shiite and die

Very basic fifth-highest passing game in UM history. Start Williams.

C'mon bro, he's not a good QB.

I stand by what I've said: he will be the highest drafted Canes QB in more than two decades.

Today was billed as a defining game for him and he delivered. All he heard for weeks was that he couldn't hit a long ball. Then he goes out and connects on a 65-yard TD on the first drive.

They said he didn't have "it," then he goes and leads the team on a 92-yard two minute drive.

He definitely left too many throws on the field. He can still improve a ton and I look forward to watching it.

This^^^ Morris' upside is higher than ANY of his detractors realize. And he's still kind of early in his development. This SHOULD be his Sophomore year, but we had jack squat for depth two years ago.

You overrate him.

He has good physical tools, he's smart, he's cool and he works hard.

But he's not very accurate, he's inconsistent, he lacks great awareness in the pocket and great feel for the game.

Also, saying he will be the highest drafted Cane qb in two decades isn't much. Dorsey was great in college but everyone knew he lacked the physical tools for the pros, and besides him you are not talking about a great list of throwers.

Morris played decent. He had good looking numbers. But anyone who watched the game knows he left a ton of plays out there. Our WR's were open all day. Should have put up 50 plus.

I'm confident his accuracy will improve as the season goes on though. It's very encouraging to see how open Dorsett and DJ were.

Morris has potential and he had a beautiful drive to tie the game but just stop please. He was awful in the FAMU game IMO and he was terribly inaccurate today again for the 2nd straight game. Is he a tough QB with good leadership skills? Yea. He's far from a good QB right now though.

All that is fixable and doesn't mean he doesn't have huge upside.

Stop expecting perfection out of him, christ. No **** he left plays on the field, but he still made pivotal throws throughout the game. He was **** near money on 3rd down as well.

One throw he doesn't seem to get much credit for is the 3rd and long deep in their zone on that final drive...threw a bullet over the corner's head right to Dorsett. He made plays when he needed to.

This board has gone to ****. I'm in disbelief people are actually saying Morris should be benched. Thats full ******. Dude won the game. Sure he made some mistakes, all Qb's do. Sit down, STFU, Enjoy the show. GO CANES

The problem is memories lie. People seem to think Dorsey never missed an opportunity. > 400 yards is what it is.

Yeah but you can say that about any decently athletic QB with a strong arm.

Don't get me wrong. I hope he starts to "get it" and dissect defenses like Dorsey but usually those kind of guys show flashes of that ability early on(Just like you could see it immediately in Dorsey)

****. Being at the game, I didn't know he had that many yds. He had alot of bad throws too. Missed a few wide open guys. He coulda had over 500.

He just needs to settle down sometimes. The OL was great but Morris sometimes was rushing when he didn't have to.

Totally agree. Was at the game and the obvious knock on him that he puts no touch on the ball was evident. Definitely s surprised he threw for that many yards. Good job on the last drive and hard running by Mike James during the 2nd half.

judging morris' "greatness" on that last drive would be like saying freeman is a great qb for the drive against fsu in 2007. he's proven to be inconsistent at best. the cries for "give him time" and "work in progress" are crap. he's been at miami for 3 years already and different coordinators don't affect his ability to throw accurately or put touch on the ball. he may be the best we have right now, but just because he isn't harris (who was a better qb) doesn't mean he's our savior.

Freeman vs. FSU in '07- 59 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
Morris vs. GT in '12- 436 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

what? Jacory Harris was a better Qb? Are we being serious right now? How many meltdowns over his 4 year career were there? Thats one of the most ridiculous statements i've ever seen. If morris starts for 4 years he puts up better number than jacarris, so get rid of the **** stat argument. Other than statistics, in what way is he better? His penchant for terrible decisions? Random moments of FIIGD? How about his off the field demeanor of *** *** oakland raider overalls? GTFO with this crap

how many yards after catch did receivers have today? i'll admit, TD to dorsett was great but TD to james was a glorified handoff. morris can't hit a slant or a flare route to save his life.

i'm not saying harris was great at all. i'm just saying that morris isn't any better. morris' numbers this year are the product of inflated stats with dumpoff routes and receivers making plays. he's proven to be unable to throw more than 15 yards downfield with any sort of consistency. other than the dorsett play today, how many times this year has he thrown a good ball to the endzone? james made the td at the happen by catching it at the line of scrimmage and taking it himself. how many meltdowns did jacory have that were because whipple wanted him to be ben roethlisberger and gun the ball? there's a reason morris hasn't started since he was a frosh and it's because he isn't a great qb. he may be the best we have now, but in no way is he any more than average.

This should get ******* negged.

And all the other posts bashing Morris in this thread.

Yep. I'm gonna neg em.
