Stephen Morris's 2 Touchdowns..... Crazy

S. Morris always hits guys in stride, the 1st interception looked like he didnt get a lot on the throw, very unusual for him which led me to thinking that his ankle was bothering him again.

Which he was limping seriously after the scramble earlier in the game.

Ah yes, if his play goes downhill then we can always blame the "injury". If he's injured then get his *** out of the game.

well he was noticeably limping after the scramble.... do you deny that?

Why would any UM fan want him out of the game?.... What i\ws Ryan Williams going to do against FSU?

When that int happened, I texted a number of people that the throw was the 1st bad deep ball that I've seen Morris throw all year.
Maybe, and this is just me thinking this, Morris is more used in his timing to Dorsett's speed. He overthrew Coley on an earlier deep ball, although I think if Coley just keeps running, instead of slowing down to jump, I think that 1st deep ball hits him in the hands.
Maybe on the int, Morris dialed it back so as not to overthrow the ball, but to give Coley an opportunity to make a play.

He could also just have made a bad throw.

We all know that Morris can throw the ball much farther than the 65 yards on that int. his max throw in the air this year was one to Dorsett for like a 68 yard gain, with the ball traveling 80 yards in the air.

The 2nd int I don't blame Morris. We were way behind and FSU was dropping 7 to cover 4.
It was gunslinger time, trying to force one in there. Sometime, like that rope to Hurns for his 2nd td, it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

We are going to be riding Morris for the rest of the year. I'd expect at least 50 passes a game from here on out.
Crawford is like Bettis in the red zone. Between the 20's, unfortunately, he's not a carry the load type of runner.

This game was a team loss. No QB should be expected to be perfect. If Morris hits the Coley pass it doesnt change the fact that Winston carved us up with easy passes to open defenders or running backs. Our defenders need to actually defend in a zone not just sit there let the receiver catch the ball and then make the tackle. Is it scheme or talent ?

We don't give Morris very many easy throws. You watch FSU's offense and their OC gives Winston a ton of easy reads and throws. There wasn't a single throw that Winston made that Morris couldn't have. Morris completion percentage would be higher too if we incorporated more intermediate throws. We refuse to nickel and dime people though, we rather go vertical and down the hashes.

Might be a confidence issue. FSU used crossing routes when Coley was there. Why not at Miami? When Morris is off with his mechanics he tends to be high and that will lead to interceptions. They ran hook to Walford. Nobody talks about if Morris hits the slant to Waters the game is tied at 21.

The kid has an NFL arm when his mechanics are tight. He still lacks sound pocket presence and he generates absolutely nothing with his feet.

He gets plenty of easy throws but he does not always make them. He will make some unreal throws like the 2 in the OP but then turns around throws a ball over the head of a guy 5 yards away from him. Going back to the UF game. It was 2nd and 2 or something like that. Dorsett had one on one and the CB was playing way off. Dorsett runs a 5 yard hitch, should be an easy first down. Morris throws it over his head. That happens very often with Morris and what makes him so frustrating to watch. Can't make any throw but struggles to make the simple throw with consistency.

He also struggles throwing the ball over the middle of the field. Most of his INTs are over the middle. I think its way too risky to throw over the middle with Morris who misses high often.

not true.... Stephen Morris makes easy throws all game, he constantly hit your boy Walford all game against FSU.

Some of the mistakes, like Allen Hurns said was receivers not hitting the depth on their routes or just bad decisions from the QB it has NOTHING to do w/ what Stephen Morris cant do.

He can make every throw there is to make on a football field, short intermediate or long.... and he's done that all season. You all dont know what u are looking at on the field, ur minds are so deadset on being negative towards S. Morris that you dont even see him make the throws that you all keep saying he cant make.

That 2nd TD against FSU wasnt a deep ball, that was intermediate route perfectly thrown in the endzone. He doesnt have any limitations as far as what he can do w/ the football, the problem is he's inconsistent the other problem that compounds the issue is his ankle injury.

Everyone wants to be deep and breakdown some **** about Stephen Morris that you all dont have a clue about it's simple he's inconsistent and he's not healthy,

I think one of the biggest plays of the night was the long pass that AJ misplayed. If he picks that ball or at least plays the ball and deflects it...It might have been a different outcome. jmac

you keep arguing that morris isn't inaccurate, just inconsistent. i think there's a word to describe a quarterback that doesn't consistently hit his target (spoiler alert: it's "inaccurate").

Listen I was all in on Morris before the season but he has limitations and is holding this offense back. He consistently locks on to a WR and rarely ever progresses to his second read. He's not that accurate, yes he makes some beautiful throws but how many times has he thrown behind WR's on intermediate or short routes and while many of those throws are completed it limits the WR chances after the catch.

Morris also rarely steps into the pocket, he leaves his OL out to dry by trying to run outside the pocket. Watch Winston step up and continue to look downfiled on sat. Morris just doesn't look comfortable in the pocket.
