I'm calling bullshyt on the notion that Morris played because he is/was better than Williams. The assessment on this forum about QB's by people that don't appear to have any personal knowledge of what happened in practice or in the minds of coaches is exceeded by the number of outstanding players who sat on the bench while inferior upperclassmen played.

I'm talking about at UM... We played almost everyone and
it was pretty clear why certain players didn't play... They were either not good enough or they weren't ready... And the Joe Montana example isn't the norm... It happens but it's not everyday that hall of fame qb splits time or rides bench... The closes thing to his story occurred like 20 years later with Tom Brady... 2 examples in 20 years...
I think our fanbase needs to accept the fact that Morris was better last year... Hopefully Williams emerges and becomes a better qb for the upcoming season but that's all we can do at the moment...
