Staff may just go all in with Emory now…

I hope they play him against Iowa State. Better for Cam as he should sit anyway.

Let everyone see what we’ve got an prove that you actually believe in it.
Let Cam have the first quarter .... his going away contribution. Then let Emory take over so everybody can get a better idea of how he has progressed and developed over the past year. IF he has a good outing ... it could actually help with portal and the February signing period.

Doubt they even recruit anyone left that will sign in February.

The spring portal window in April is partially why we sucked. We tried to force Brown, Baron, etc into our rotation and they got here late. Took Martinez a while to gel as well. Need the key guys here in January

We could also be ravaged in that portal window when spring practice doesn’t go the way we need it to at QB

Bowl game if Emory is the starter:

Not sure who may enter the portal after the playoffs, but not sure there’s anyone we’ll throw millions at.

With emory it’s a different looking offense. More balanced. More running. But we have the oline and rbs to do it. We’ll win but win not relying on a superstar at qb to be the focus of the offense and be the star.
This is the path I would take.

A Cam/Mario combo produced 10 wins. A Emory/Mario combo produces a 7/8 win season. Mateer/Mario is more like 10. Mendoza/Mario maybe 8, ceiling 9..

Mendoza should have won 9-10 games with Cal this past season if it wasn't for their poor kickers(they had 2) that cost them games. They missed 2 FGs against FSU, against Pitt they passed on kicking FGs and went for it on 4th downs cause of their kicking situation and missed another crucial FG against NC State. That team had some bad luck when it came to FGs

You're wrong Bob Griese was a stud QB. He was a College All-American, 2x first team NFL All Pro, 6x Pro Bowler, 1977 NFL TD passing leader, 1978 NFL Completion leader and early in his career the preeminent scrambler in the NFL.
Griese got hurt in game 5 and didn't come back until the conference championship. A geriatric Earl Morrall kept them undefeated through the regular season.

Dawson didn’t earn his money this year. He was a belicheck.

If it’s Emory, now he earns his $$. That’s were scheme comes in.

Agree, Mateer was the only chance to keep it going like this year.

Now they have to rethink the entire team because there’s a possibility that we become 24 FSU if Emory is the QB and the defense is not fixed. Maybe with a better running game, but still…

We could go with me at QB and this team won't go 2-10. What FSU did was historic in a bad way.

it’s going to be unfortunately hilarious when these Emory slurpers get on here next year complaining about our **** season we are having.

I’m 100% wanting to be proved wrong.
I’m ready to see what Emory has I’m not gonna say we’re a 10 win team with him probably at best 8-4 but no Mateer might as well build the rest of the team around him

A qb with ability to run is paramount if his arm talent isn't elite. I just don't see it with Emory. Maybe we fill more holes on D with quality adds but then we still have to hope MC makes the defensive staff changes and the new guys are good when he's failed om two DC hires. Mendoza is the obvious pivot at qb but I'd circle back to Mensah or someone else with with run element.
Accuracy > arm strength. The ability to read a defence is also paramount.

You don't need to be Mike Vick back there, just have the ability to threaten on a Read Option and take what the defence gives you if you have to scramble.
