I never saw Lances comments so I’m glad this was bumped

I remember years back watching Trent Richardson prepping for the draft with a crude virtual reality setup

It didn’t help Trent in the end (Cleveland has that effect on people) but IIRC he was working on blitz pickup reaction time and I was like holy **** this is the future right here

Maybe @Lance Roffers remembers that? It was eye opening though

More on topic, I don’t think the staff EVER considered Emory to take the starting position. They pumped a bunch of sunshine about his practice performance because coaches normally don’t throw players under the bus, especially good soldiers like Williams. But they were immediately contacting quarterbacks as soon as they entered the portal and likely even before.

Should’ve spent less time on blitz pickup and more time on running into open grass and not changing course to run directly into defenders. All time lack of vision.

No he won't, but it doesn't really matter. He failed his 30 minute test so miserably this season that his time here is over. That's all that matters to me, as I don't give a **** about any other teams. But he'll be on an FBS roster if/when he bounces.

He isn't FBS caliber. I said that 3 years ago and it was quite the controversy. You are correct though it doesn't matter he won't ever be the starter here.

Doesn't really matter. There are, what? 125 teams in the FBS? One of them will take him, without a doubt. If you wanna say he'll never start at the FBS level, I won't push back on that one bit. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.....I wouldn't bet on it. But an FBS team taking him in the portal, yes that will for sure happen.

There’s 134 current FBS programs and Emory Williams will 100% wind up at one. Maybe he never starts a game again but some G5 programs will scoop him up. His career numbers against G5 competition (no FCS) are 14-16 203 1/0. So in limited time he’s done well against poor competition. He’s good enough to compete for a job in the MAC or similar low G5 conference.

I remember Lance Roffers said recently a scout he knew watched Emory tape and said he wasn't even qb caliber for Missouri State 👀
