Staff Changes Delay The Inevitable

Not really, JHall. It was a very solid post and a great rebuttal to the OP's christmas afternoon rant about his presents not being what he wanted.

We have problems but Al is far from issue at this point. Coach Golden has been a champ over the past two seasons. When even the oldest and most hard core Canes fans were losing hope it was coach Golden who was reminding us of our tradition and history. Dude has been a beacon of hope in our NCAA and self-implosion storms.

Let's just say I disagree with you and move along. What I say will probably get deleted by you anyway.

Thankfully some of you clowns aren't the AD. You would bankrupt the program with constant firings of head coaches. Please keep your day jobs if you have one.

Sure, fire Golden. Let's restart EVERYTHING again. That'll work out.

Oh, look, another short-sighted simpleton and a natural born loser.

I'm sure you said the same thing during Coker and Shannon's reign of terror.

You say short sighted simpleton, I say level headed and educated. How easy is it for someone like you who has probably racked up 12,000 of your impressive post count in the past three weeks to just say fire everybody and start over. We are tied to this guy for the rest of decade for what is thought to be on the plus side of $2M/season. Your solution would be to fire him so that we can hire who and for how much? You are so quick to say fire him, but you don't offer up where you go from there. You want the school with a strapped athletic department to be on the hook for a guy for probably $12M to $15M on top of paying another top staff because I am guessing that you wouldn't be happy with another coach coming here from the MAC.

The fact of the matter is Golden isn't going anywhere because some hot head on the internet with 14,000 plus posts thinks he knows how to run an athletic department from a laptop in his parents basement. Golden has done a great job of recruiting and rebuilding the relationships with the local high school coaches that Shannon destroyed during his tenure. What I think should happen, which is worth about as much as what your opinion is, should be for the administration to "suggest" that Golden relieve D'onofrio of his duties and hire a proven aggressive DC to take the reigns that will be allowed to bring in HIS assistants for the defensive staff. That is a much more feasible option in my eyes and something that the school can afford. I know about as much as anybody else on this board about what the athletic department can or cannot afford but based on past hires and contracts that have been given out we have to assume that either they are not willing or able to bring in a bigtime proven coach.

What a ****ing failure of a post.

LOL...ok. Which part don't you agree with? I apologize for being realistic and that because I don't agree with a pointless rant that will never happen makes my post a failure. Thanks for adding to the thread...very informative. Hey, WhatTheHell I think that I found the simpleton that you were looking for earlier. SMH....

Here comes the inevitable backlash from the condescending losers who were saying the same ("we're more evolved than you because we accept losing and getting horsec0cked by shyttty teams every week with a big smile on our dilapidated faces") stuff when C0cker and Shanntard were clearly over their flat heads here.

I will say this: Perhaps Al Golden is our Winston Churchill. The people of the UK were used to their country being the greatest nation on earth, then came WWII. They were beaten emotionally. It was Winston Churchill who held them together with his speeches and public persona. After the war was over (NCAA investigation) the British voters tossed Churchill to the curb in favor of a better tactician.

Offbeat analogy. :)

I've said a few times (not blaming you if you missed it with all the bull**** being spewed here) that Golden has done his job. He has been masterful when it comes to keeping us in a positive light when really, this whole thing could have come completely unglued. His issue with me has always been Saturdays. He dominates every other day of the week IMO.

Now I don't think for one second he is anywhere near losing his job, and I'm not *****ing about that. What I am saying is, he better step up. The excuses are over. We are navigating our way through one of the most embarrassing schedules I have ever seen here, and we still look like we are clueless.

The honeymoon is over, and it's not always a bad thing for a guy to worry about his job.

I think folks need to come off the ledge and show some patience with Al. He is excellent coach who inherited a program in abysmal shape.

His biggest asset (recruiting) has been hindered by the NCAA cloud over his head. He will bring this program back, it's just going to take a couple years longer than we thought.

Randy and Coker were awful coaches who needed to go, I don't feel the same way with Al. He will get it right.

Like in wrote in WEZ, that NCAA rain storm bull**** doesn't excuse you from losing to those nerds in Durham. Golden needs to shut the ****. Fire his friend if not he needs to get out of my ******* sight too

We are in near total agreement. The role of his job is now shifting. The NCAA thing is over. Time to take the next steps. I will simply caution people here to remember that the fixes cannot happen in internet message board time.

Agreed. The frustration can be mind numbing at times, but some perspective is always needed.

McGahee2TheHouse said it perfectly IMO.

How the **** can people call this fanbase reactionary and overly emotional/impatient when we have been sitting through this same **** for a decade now? If anything we have been extraordinarily patient.

Agree, Golden is the problem.

Some act like Golden inherited the worst program in CFB. He took over a 7-5 team and three years later we are actually worse. Obviously he didn't inherit a great situation, the previous coach got fired for a reason. If you're a good coach though you find a way to make it work by year three at least.

The NCAA thing limited what he could do but at the end of the day we have still been out-recruiting every team in our division. For what we are trying to do right now (win the coastal), talent is not the problem. Stop with the excuses.

Todd Graham took over a 6-7 team at ASU, two years later they are a top 15 team.

Jim Mora took over a 6-8 team and a program with a losing culture, he immediately turned things around.

Jerry Kill got hired at Minnesota the same year as Golden and took over a three win team. They can win 10 games this year.

The list goes on with coaches like Malzahn, Freeze, Strong, Sumlin, etc.

People are just terrified of change when in reality, you can look around and see tons of examples of how things really can get fixed quick, especially when you have talent.

People are acting like this is the best we can do. Defeatist.

Yesterday definitely rivals anything Shannon or Coker have ever produced.

Shannon's house would have been on fire by now. The only reason people are allowing it and saying things like "Oh, he's still the CEO!" is because he's articulate, like any good con man. He's still hoodwinking and bamboozling innocent simpletons with his slick-talking salesman routine. It's sad.

Cover their faces and just watch the seasons - I can't tell a difference between a Shannon team and a Golden one.

Difference between Shannon and Golden team is we would have a losing record right now. I think Coach non-D needs to be fired but this bend dont break bull**** D that we have been playing the last 7 years needs to go. We need a DC that will be aggressive...I would rather get beat by a big play than constantly let teams drive down the field over and over and over and...

what is this based on? We played tougher schedules under Shannon. This team is terrible and has benefited greatly from a very light schedule.

Let's just say when you start talking **** about post counts and people living in their parents basements....blah blah blah.....your feelings are invalid, even if you seem hellbent on pumping out the same rainbow colored happy horse**** we have been listening to for two years now.

You must have problems with reading comprehension. I don't recall posting any rainbow colored happy horse**** about the program. I don't even know what that is. All I did was state the obvious that most of don't want to acknowledge and that is that Golden isn't going anywhere no matter how much the fans **** and moan about it. So what MY OPINION for the best plan of attack is to pay good money for a high quality DC, give him the reigns, and let Golden concentrate on the the things that he does well. That doesn't mean that I would be opposed to hiring Saban away from Bama, I am just very much certain that isn't going to happen. The AD needs to figure out a way to make the best of the current situation we are in.

Rather than blasting others for their opinions why don't you offer one up. What realistic avenue would you suggest we take? Let's see if NVA CANE will like that post also.

Take you own advice. Reading comprehension. You sure as **** don't have to look far to get my opinion.

I'm not holding your ******* hand.
