Then how did we win five national titles (and have 10 total title game appearances) in the last 35 years?

Hint: Only one of your two variables crosses that whole time span.

We are in the 2000s correct? What teams that are winning right now aren't packing their stadiums every Saturday? Please name them, I'll wait

What were the teams that were winning in the 80's and 90's that weren't packing their stadiums every Saturday?

Please just STFU already.
You stfu bra, truth hurts. Our fans are sorry AF compared to other schools.

What you don't seem to grasp is that this "lack of fan support" has never mattered to the U when it came to on the field performance. Now all of a sudden we have Gorlden and the "lack of fan support" is the critical deciding factor in the schit schow that we have been served up on gamedays.

Serious retardation in that line of thought.

Again we are in the 2000s. Look golden sucks, everyone knows it. Who really wants to play in an uninspired stadium? We have to change it man....Having low fan support also factors in some of the big recruits decision who don't want anything to do with miami because of it... Does Sony michel ring a bell?

Eh, miami is matched with bad coaching and terrible fan support. And people wonder why top recruits don't come here besides the coaching. I gurantee if we packed the stadium our team would play more amped up. But our horrible fans are too good to go see the team play that they supposedly love so much...

You're sortve arguing against yourself.

Winning teams pack the stands, that's the point. Lebron even made it to a sold out BUC in 2013.

Career sub .500 coaches don't pack the stands. The onus isn't on the fans to make the coach win games. People don't want to spend 25$ to park their cars in but**** Dade county to watch ****** golden blow NFL talent on his hubris.

And to add to all that, we're talking about south Florida, which doesn't really need anymore of an explanation.

Fvk Sony Michel. He didn't come here because the ******* corches don't know how to win.

That's the bottom line. It had nothing to do with chinstraps in the stands or planes in the air.

It is what it is man. It would help attract some of the top recruits imo that are slipping away. They would see that the fans are cheering them on every saturday no matter what. It Would show that we are loyal. Now the recruits see us as being unloyal and a joke because of how empty the stands are. I know people would say if we wasn't losing so much.... We were 6-0 against wake last year and the stadium wasn't even half full...

The fans are extremely loyal, and fed up.

The recruits either love "the u" and "swagger" enough to ignore the evidence or they go elsewhere.

The coaches are driving away elite level talent the same way they're driving away the fans.

Everything here is related, it's not some crazy coincidence. Want to be a star on south beach? Go to the U. Want to win championships in front of a packed house? Go to Tuscaloosa.

Agree, we have to change it. However I know there are some loyal fans who are fed up but I remember there also was people on this board telling recruits not to come here right around nsd. It was unbearable for me to see that especially to supposedly come from "fans" of the U

What was the attendance this year at UF? Tennessee? Kentucky, even?

Let's go outside the SEC and talk about VT (record of 22-17 last 3 seasons), BYU (8-5 for each of the last 3 years), Arizona State (19-19 the last 3 years)?

Apparently, some mediocre teams do pack the stands. And they all have to pay for parking, as crazy as it seems.

I'm not saying we should "accept mediocrity." I'm saying that it's a BS excuse to claim that no other teams pack their stands if they don;t win, and t's a BS excuse to bring up South Fla as some sort of rationalization.

Went to the GT game in Atlanta last year. **** was packed. They've sucked forever !

Remind me of the powerhouse program known as Georgia.. Seriously how many BCS games have they won or even played for?

You're flipping the thesis.

I'm not claiming that bad teams never sell out. The argument was "name me good teams that don't pack the stands."

If you can't understand why terrible teams in south Florida don't sellout, than you don't understand south Florida.

Al Golden sucks. Fact. The Miami Hurricanes suck. Fact. That's why the stadiums empty all the time.

Win games and the fans will show sometimes. But the fans aren't going to win those games.

You ladies need to start separating your emotions from reality. Embrace it. Willful ignorance isn't an excuse.

Willful ignorance isn't an excuse?

You give some folks too much credit. If the ignorance is willful, then it's intellectually dishonest. If it's not willful, then it's plain ol' or'nary stupidity.

No matter the source of the ignorance, a SLURPER IS A SLURPER.

Being around some high school players i can tell you that some of these kids see this stuff and dont like it, stuff like this can effect a kids decision, honestly if i was a recruit seeing this stuff i might second guess coming here

BUT

Heres the thing this how miami is, yoy need to win in this town, we are a town of winners if you dont win then this stuff happens, if golden was winning we would probably get some kids that went to other schools, there wouldnt be banners flying, there wouldnt be empty stadiums, there wouldnt be a negative outlook of the team by everyone down here, this is all on golden

Does this stuff put a negative on the program absolutely but goldens lack of winning is what pushed it to this level

Grolden is the head honcho. He has total control. He hasn't produced. It's already past the time for the loser to go.

Bottom line, those trying to separate the Davis and Golden banners are full of ****. There were a few people against the banner for Davis at the time, but they were few and far between as are the Golden supporters today.

Fast forward years and some of these same people are clamoring for what amounts to a mediocre game day coach as if he's Bear Bryant reincarnated. That's how low we've sunk, that a once hated coach is now adored. What a joke and it's pathetic that grown *** men don't own up to their bs or remain consistent.

Golden sucks, Butch wasn't much better but was a vast improvement recruiting wise.

Makes no sense.

It's like saying...well yeah, I raped her. But she was already dead; some other guy murdered her. So what I did really doesn't matter.

Bottom line is that flying banners makes the situation worse. Yeah, Golden sucks. Yeah, he needs to be fired ASAP. Yeah, the fact that we suck is a big part of the reason we're losing recruits.

But flying banners isn't going to get him fired any faster, and is only going to exacerbate a situation that's already crappy.

It's amazing that you simpletons can't admit that. Would that it were simply willful ignorance...but it's not. You're sincerely this dumb.

The thing I don't get is...if you guys are done with the team, the program, the university; why do []_[] come to a University of Miami football site? If you're done, []_[] should be done with anything and everything that relates to the []_[]. Why keep coming back everyday to say I'm done with this program until they make changes? Why don't you go away until they make the changes you feel fits you. Leave the site for fans who looks forward to seeing these KIDS go all out for The U!

Mods I've seen this porst copy and pasted about 4 or 5 times now.. And in different threads. That's SPAM. Can we ban this ******* troll already?

Here's the way I look at it. If Golden doesn't do well this year, we lose, and he's fired. Now, a banner does NOTHING to make that happen at this point. His own poor coaching will take care of that. So if you believe Al Golden is as crappy as you think he is, just sit back and watch as we lose and he's fired. He won't survive another 6 win season. The banner crowd want their voice heard, and I get that, but there's no one who doesn't know how upset we fans are. Flying banners influences recruits in a negative way. So does losing. Right now Al Golden isn't getting fired before next season, so we need to just wait it out and let nature run its course. HE will not survive losing. WE will not survive if we scare off top recruits whom the next coach can coach up.

Golden's retards are out in full force... Fly baby Fly.... "F**k AL GOLDEN" should be the slogan for 2015

Let me simplify it for you....

Losing hurts recruiting.
Losing gets Golden fired.
Banners hurt recruiting.
Banners don't get Golden fired.

Golden's retards are out in full force... Fly baby Fly.... "F**k AL GOLDEN" should be the slogan for 2015
