Spring ball day 2 videos n stuff

This ain't the hood, I would think UM would have better resources

Man a lot of football players use the peanut butter method. I have heard a lot of guys said they did it it in the off season to gain weight. You have to eat and when you are skinny like mccord eating healthy aint gone do the trick.

I'm aware, and just because you eat "healthy" doesn't mean you will lose or maintain weight, there's other methods as well, still doesn't mean you should throw back boxes of pizza either

You must have never played football. When you are trying to put on weight especially when you are light those guys eat any and everything all day long and hit the weights. Just because he is in college doesnt mean they have some special method to put on weight. Some guys just got to eat a lot and workout a lot to do it

I'm aware fam, and yes I've played, nothing wrong with eating a lot, you're suppose to. I'm saying it's more about what you're eating opposed to how much.

Lol... man come on let's be real.

It takes about 3500 calories to equal a pound. For him to gain weight he has to eat more calories than he burns which is hard for him to do because of his high intensity fitness programs.

Eating the right foods would consist of a table full of food that could feed five each time he ate..lol

That would be a difficult task

These are 18-21 year olds. You go to any program in the country and I guarantee you they aren't sitting around eating chicken and broccoli all day. Mccord is not an issue for us from a weight standpoint. If one of these pregnant-looking DT's talks about his pizza-predominant diet, then there's something to discuss. McCord's intake is about 1500th on the list of issues with this team.

People are just saying there's a "clean" way to bulk and achieve his daily caloric intake goal, and it doesn't include fast food.

You're a coach. You know, for some of us, our metabolisms make every pound gained a monumental feat.
Especially for very lean people.
If your body fat is in single digits you can pound the weights for a year and eat everything in sight, and you will gain 5 lbs.
It will all be muscle and you will be markedly stronger, but the weight gain will not be significant.

Its pretty tough and expensive to clean bulk and eat that many calories of whole food.

eating dominoes is probably the cheapest way to get those many calories. most of these kids dont have cars, theyre not driving to the grocery store to stock up on veggies

True that. Plus, let's face it, Whole Foods, to a lot of people mind as well be called "Whole Paycheck."
They are selling grass fed beef for $19.99 a pound.

Good, healthy nutrition costs and costs a lot.

Usain bolt ate 1,000 mcnuggets during the Beijing olympics and he seems to be in decent shape.

Guys with that type of build have to eat anything they can get their hands on to put on weight. I'd be concerned if it was an O-Lineman eating that then a Dlineman with a thinner build.

Some people on here just don't get it or have a clue.

I'm no health connoisseur but I know there's better methods to gaining weight than gorging down boxes of pizzas and pbj sandwiches

Exactly. It's antiquated thinking. And frankly, I'm shocked these kids don't have more nutritional know-how

I had to do the same thing to bulk up. Went from 135lbs to 187 in a little over 18 months...of course that was accompanied by protein/creatine/amino acids, & a great work out routine. However, he has to have off days from so much bad carbs as well b/c that would turn into fat and lower stamina eventually; so if he's not busting out brown rice, broccol, spinach, and lean chicken breast two days out the week, all that pizza is going to catch up to him later on in the season...but there's nothing wrong w that routine right now and I'm positive that's all he's eating/doing to get big. It's a pretty effective way to get big, just can't be too much of an overkill.
