Sooo, what’s next?

Thx.

Saw earlier where @JayCane20 posted about CJ (likely hearing that from people) and that would be the most Mario thing ever, because Miami, unless it brings Jeremiah Smith, which I don’t see happening.
Idc if he has a time machine & brings 97 Randy Moss with him.

Bad QB's don't make good WR's better, they do the opposite.

JJ played with Will Howard's bum *** at Oh ST, I wouldn't guarantee that he'd be all that exicted to come to Miami to play with another bum QB...

I mean, if he really wanted to play with Bailey that bad, he could've followed him to NC ST, but he didn't.

Back to the drawing board:

- Sign a good Portal QB
(Yes, there will be good QB's in the Portal. I know a lot of you can't think past the next 15 seconds, but I promise you, between December - Feb/March there will be MULTIPLE good starting caliber QB's in the Portal)

- Sign a Portal WR

- Go absolutely nuclear on the Secondary
[Bring in as many DB's as you can find. Do not settle & do not recycle another teams trash just because they happen to be from South FL]

- Hire a new DC

- Add more DLine depth, particularly at DT.

- Decide what the plan is at LB;
Either go with the youth movement & play all Soph's, Red FR & True FR's, or hit the Portal & find two vet LB's who can actually tackle in space.

- Keep Dawson's Creek
[Despite the hate he keeps getting on the board, he's a very good OC. Unless Mario is going to fully immerse into the Shriners Temple of the Nobles of the Masonic Air Raid Lodge, keeping Dawson for continuity sake is actually a good idea. It will help sell the next Portal QB on Miami being a destination spot & we know the production will be there if we have an adequate passer.

It will also be crucial & beneficiary for the young WR Corps to stay in this same system.]

Last but certainly not least...

Your list accurately addresses the issues. But unfortunately is as long as a CVS receipt.

As for linebacker, I actually like Aguirre, bobby Washington, Pruitt, and bisanthe. There’s A good blend of speed and violence there. I’m sure Mario will grab a 235 senior lb linebacker from Louisville or nc state though.

But can any of this actually get done if the money is drying up as Jay and a few others are saying is happening? If boosters are out after 10-2 we're screwed.
This is just a moronic narrative. We will be opting into the House settlement and will have a payroll for football directly from the school and nothing to do with NIL of $15M+. Then we will be just as competitive with NIL so while we won't be Texas/Ohio St we will have plenty of money to be very competitive.

Curious, what brought you around to this?
Don't feel like arguing about it, so just threw it in there to cut down on 75% of my responses that would ask, "no new DC?!?".

I don't think & am pretty confident in the film that Guidry is not the main issue with the Defense.

But, that doesn't really matter. It's better to just bulldoze the whole thing & start over.

Looks good, only thing missing is hiring a gameday step in for Mario while he's out on the road recruiting on Saturdays.

I'll be curious to see how much those rules get challenged the first time that ncaa clearinghouse denies an NIL deal. It won't happen to the Taints and Jawja's of the world but I'd bet we'll be among the first to get one rejected.

Bailey has some Nkosi Perry to his game

Need to get **** figured out fast because right now, as rosters are currently constructed, at minimum ND and UF pump us next year.

He would be like Plan C, I would hope to get someone better but he’s a competent starting QB. He has about 11 starts under his belt 3,200 passing yards 29 Total TDs 10INTs. This season he had 2,550 passing yards 20 Total TDs 9INTs.
Who is your Plan A and Plan B?

I think we should just go with the youth movement at LB. Just don't think we will have the money to spend on everything plus like LB or TE, just from a optimal allocation process perspective. Just let the young guys there earn their job. Spend literally all the portal money at QB >>> a WR1 > like 4 DBs > Couple DLineman ... and in that order.

I like what we have at RB, WR (Have talent, but losing a lot of production so need to make sure we get 1 certified stud), TE, Oline, DLine (just want to add 1-2 experienced guys as floor raisers), and LB.

As far as Dawson, Idk why we'd walk away from him, but I could see him wanting to parlay this into a HC job somewhere, especially if he isn't confident we land an elite portal QB for next season. Up to him for sure imo.

Not sure I've ever seen a defense look so incredibly bad while grading pretty **** well in advanced metrics like this season. It's insane. I still maintain the worst thing Guidry did this year defensively is what he's done with our DLine. For me there is no excuses for that lack of production out of that group. Guidry is probably a good DC, and probably COULD have success here. But this season was suck a fail defensively that we need to start over. Nicholson at LB coach was getting a lot of love, but if he was in charge of the LB rotation, idk how the **** he stays, especially since our LBs appear to be the dumbest guys on the team and don't ever know what they're doing. I doubt Jason Taylor had any control of all the stunts our Dline was doing, and I think Mario likes his recruiting so he's probably safe... And a New DC almost definitely wants their own DB coach....

*not including this last game cause the metrics aren't updated yet for everything below*

Defensively, we're 31st in adjusted EPA/Play, 6th in Success Rate%, 18th in EPA/Dropback, 9th in Pass Success Rate%, 63rd in EPA/Rush, 23rd in Run Success Rate%, and ******* 11th in Havoc% (TFL, Sack, PD, Force Fumble, or INT). ... Aside from that Run metric, that's pretty **** good statistically.

How the **** are those defensive stats combined with us leading the country in total adjusted EPA/play, 5th in EPA/Dropback, and 4th in EPA/carry, make any sense with how our Defense and overall team actually performs...

These are the net EPA metrics on the season:

Like all the P5 teams listed there are the best teams in the country lol

**** sucks but gotta remember that Indiana played nobody and got blown out by Ohio st. Ohio st just lost to their rival who isn't good, ND lost to ******* NIU, Bama lost to OU and Vandy, UTenn lost to arkansas and has barely beaten OU/UF/Bama/Kentucky in low scoring games, Ole miss lost to ******* Kentucky and UF who we killed. UGA had to go to 8OT to beat GTech and looked much worse than us doing it and needed refs to bail them out hard ...Just been a wild year for almost everyone aside from Oregon.

As far as what's next, #1 on the priority list is and will always be to get the best Qb possible to start the season with.

The usual suspects list consists of John Mateer, Josh Hoover, Sawyer Robertson, Katin Houser, Jalon Daniels, Brendan Sorsby, Darian Mensah, Jordan McCloud, Miller Moss... Maybe a Behren Morton, Ethan Vasko, Caden Veltkamp....

That's for the most part the pool of players we want to be pulling from

What’s next is for the ACC Commish (Mr. Jim Phillips PhD) to beat the drum for UM & the playoffs like Sankey does weekly for the weak SEC teams. Time for Phillips to earn his paycheck.

Firing every defensive and special teams staff member would be a start. Then beg and plead that top donars give us money again
