Something to keep in mind when you see Miami departures

The staff expects to sign a big class, both from high school and the Portal. So a lot of these departures are not necessarily the choice of the players or recruits.

Judge the total picture when the dust settles.
When do we get a Bank or ATM?

Yikes..

There were some concerns about tampering because Narduzzi is known to cry publicly about it

Possible they think he's not good enough to risk those allegations considering it has happened and would be easy to find. Same thing as Andre Sam last year with Tulane.

They're crazy if they don't think he's good enough strictly based off the offers he's got since he entered and who recruited him to Pitt to begin with.
lol tampering??? We legit have his brother on our team… the family discussing internally about both brothers being at the same school like the maugias or browns shouldn’t be an issue to the NCAA or narduzzi

No shot at you Jay… just funny that they would try and mess with us with this particular situation

Im just spitballing. I know they’re concerned about that stuff

Still getting nervous. We've been told before that we would make waves in the portal only to be underwhelmed. Don't want to be left without a QB. Our approach is erratic at times.

Gutting depth…and replacing with depth though. If you don’t think guys should be pushed out, then don’t ask for guys to be brought in. It’s a numbers game
I get what you’re saying..but some of the guys you HL are 1st year 2nd year guys we took either as HS recruits of the portal with eligibility ..I.E Cyrus moss, freeney etc etc..you gotta let guys develop within your program..you literally see this around the country..I get it’s off szn speculation lol

If other elite programs can sign guys with traits or keep guys around who contribute on ST or culture with specific abilities why can’t miami..or guys who need too either put on weight or just become better football players then be in rotation year 2/3 of their development..why can’t Miami? Some of yall be so quick to give guys the handshake thank you for your time treatment lol

I never said that. I said he’s our best back. Yes he missed games. The same amount as Fletch and Cheney. Let’s not even talk about Citizen.
You were obviously completely unaware that he was injured and tried supporting your narrative by saying he got passed by and now you’re resorting to a semantically argument.
Lastly, this bull**** “youth movement” that you’re want “just because” is not an argument. Why do you want a youth movement?
I’d rather take the kid that had a better YPC and outperformed the others in games which they shared carry’s. Not to mention he’s better in pass pro and a leader.
I didn't forget he was injured. I said I expect him to leave. Someone else responded he was the best back in every game he played in. I said that was factually untrue. Whether he was playing through injury or not, he played in those games. And he wasn't our best RB in those games. All facts. It isn't semantics at all. He played well to start the season - 3 games of which were against non P5 opponents. Then he played well against BC to end the season. All of that I have literally said.

I also literally said I wouldn't count on Citizen. My point which was literally how this conversation started was about numbers. Im not saying Parish is getting forced out. I am saying Parish is solid, but I don't think he will get all that many carries next year. Its actually in HIS interest to leave, same way a few months ago I was saying it will be in Chaney's interest to leave. And he did/is. To me - and I literally said this - Parish and Allen is a bit redundant. And we are literally on track to bring in 3 RBs from HS. Now maybe CWH gets dropped which changes the math.

The youth movement is because A) Fletcher is clearly going to be at worst option 1B next year. B) I think Kevin Riley is legit. C) I view him, Allen, and Chris Johnson as competing for the same general touches. Johnson has a lot more potential imo. Yeah going with young guys is relying on them to step up.

But here's the thing. We are about to bring in like 5 HS DEs as of now. We have Mesidor, Bain, Kelly, Wayne returning. And then maybe Archeompong stays at DE (I expect him to move to DT). Moss Is a guy that still hasn't added weight to become a contributor after 2 years. Do you want him or Okunlola NEXT YR? We can't have 15 DEs on this roster. We have an 85 cap. So either people need to understand we literally can't get a guys like Okunlola, or decisions have to be made on guys like Moss. After 2-3 yrs in college if you aren't producing and we have opportunity to bring in a guy who is in your place.... Just is what it is

I think you have to take Okunlola's bro for the simple fact it keeps Samson here.

The fact that he was an All ACC team freshman just makes it a cherry on top.

Bad move to pass on him, regardless of what freshman they sign.
It’s not like taking a PWO or scrub. He’s a proven college player that can contribute right away.

If Samson who was hurt this year dips abd misses out on maybe the best development he will get at his position with Mirabal/Mario then he loses out in the long run. Miami OL was NASTY this year and as long as Mirabal and Mario are here it will be the strength of the team. I hope he stays becaise if developed properly he will be a monster but Miami will always recruit the OL like beasts with Mario here.

Are they going to produce next season? If not, and they aren’t freshman/sophomores, what’s the point when we can replace them with a top portal addition?
Both shemar Kirk and freeney are sophomores. Not every kid is going to be an instant impact.

Jacolby George us a 4th year junior and finally put it together this year and will be our number 1 next year. By your logic we should have gotten rid of him 3 seasons ago.

Uh Jacolby George is a 3rd year junior and played 16 games combined as a freshman/sophomore. Shemar Kirk played zero games for us this year. So, no that logic doesn't add up. Shemar Kirk also isn't a sophomore he was a juinor. Next year he will be a redshirt junior.

And it's about expectation. If the staff Expects Kirk to contribute, then keep him, but then why are we looking for a portal WR?

Freeney same thing. If they expect him to contribute, fine. But he better contribute cause CB is possibly our biggest need as a team aside from maybe DT and TE (and obviously QB, but we are 100% getting a guy there).

My only concern is that they’re going for the bird in the bush approach again. Okunlola as a DE is a proven college commodity, not a flaky recruit or a reclassifying 2025 kid.

I say this without considering that it will keep Okunlola in Miami for at least two more seasons.
5 sacks this year and not against bum schools either they should be all over him (pause)

Looks good on paper. The ceiling is high. The risk is even higher. Only Bain and Mesidor are proven to me.

But Mesidor dealt with injuries from the second he got to Miami, had multiple cleanup surgeries, and played through some stuff all year in 2022 and then played only 1.5 games in 2023. Kelly is hardly proven. Accumulated some sacks in garbage time in 2022 and then took a massive step back in 2023 looking like a total jag before going down with a season ending injury. Hope it was something lingering and slowing him down.

Wayne played almost strictly garbage time and didn't really look that twitchy as a pass rusher. Smart/nifty player that will contribute with a high motor.

Chantz and Harvey are gone. Acheampong has been injured for more than 12 months now dating back to HS and is unproven. Lightfoot is the only freshman that will be physically ready to play coming in.. until they sign someone else...

Bain played so many snaps as a true freshman due to injury.. they desperately wished they had some depth to help him out this year. I'd hate to see it happen again. They need 1 guy from the portal to bridge that gap.

If they sign who they think they're going to at DE and he can play right away like they think he can... it will be fine
Wayne played a lil more than garbage time he was starting to eat into reps.

Acheampong will be a dt.

The Recent edge pick up from Alabama is some where around 6'5 235 right now. He AND Lightfoot likely can go.
I agree with mostly everything else....

I want Samson brother as a bridge guy who steps right into that edge rotation and plays the amount of snaps Harvey played early on.
