horton leaving was huge with emory at the helm, but getting beck in the fold before the spring portal makes losing him minimal

we'll get a better WR in the spring portal (maybe two) and cj daniels has higher upside and arguably better or equivalent anyways

They never learn on CIS, just like losing Riley Williams was an unforgivable sin lol now his name doesnt even pop up here anymore :ROFLMAO:
Were you here when Kosi left ?? Seemed like everyone was his #1 fan until 2 months goes by and you barely heard a peep again...

I get the feeling that UM fans don’t watch other teams to know what real difference makers look like. Horton is a decent player.
Did you forget about the drop Horton had would have been a TD late in the 'Cuse game?
yeah did you see the drop mark Andrews had for the 2 point conversion to take the game to over time. YAEAHHHHHHHHHH **** happens . EVEN TO ONE OF THE BEST TIGHT ENDS OF ALL OF FOOTBALL. yall are juts fcking crazy.

Horton is solid but it’s hardly the end of the world. He was supposed to be a more explosive Colbie Young but he’s really just a possession guy who is good at beating man coverage and catching slants (I know Syracuse happened but he made that play 30 times during the season). He was never that downfield threat that could highpoint jump balls and make contested catches. Oddly enough, X was our best guy at that. He’s a good #3 receiver. Maybe Bama thinks higher of him so they paid him a boatload of cash. Either way, I don’t blame him for getting money if we weren’t trying to pay him.

As for our current group. Watch what the staff does in spring. I personally think they make a push for a big name at receiver but don’t be surprised if they don’t go to crazy trying to sign more portal guys. Lots of people here thought they were crazy for only bringing in Sam Brown last year. There was a lot of people doubting the group of X, George and Horton. That group had the most productive season ever for receivers at Miami so the coaches might have been pretty wise not to bring in a lot of help. We will see what happens in spring.

Kid is also from Murfreesboro, Tennessee and grew up enamored with the SEC. Visited both Alabama and Tennessee days before committing to Miami on the spot in June 2021.

Who knows how comfortable he was or wasn't at Miami.

Horton committed to Alabama about two days after Miami missed out on John Mateer—probably assuming the Canes were going to stick with Emory Williams for the 2025 season.

Have to wonder if the same thing happens if Miami lands a Carson Beck earlier in the process; does Horton still leave?
He can still transfer back to Miami this summer. Alabama had that player last year who transferred and then came back within five months.

Despite the drop against Syracuse, Horton made a lot of tough catches this season

Concern I have with the WR group is we just had one of the more reliable pass catching groups I can remember (besides the elite QB part)

Arroyo, X, Horton, George were for the most part an incredible pass catching group
